9Magazine.com's "New 991 Series Video Emerges:"
Porsche has teamed up with Tangent Vector once again to create a fantastic video of the new 991 Series 911 testing in South Africa. The photos of the South Africa test surfaced on the internet in the last few weeks, and now the video has been posted.
Through the testing photos and this video, Porsche has managed to provide a lot of details about the upcoming 991 Series without saying very much. The mechanical details of the new series have not been released, but internet sources say Porsche will be downsizing the engine from the 3.6L flat-six to a 3.4L direct-injected flat-six engine that delivers a total of 350 HP at 6400 rpm and max torque of 280 lb-ft between 4400 and 6000 rpm. The Carrera S, on the other hand, will get a 3.8-liter flat-six with direct injection engine that delivers a total of 400 HP at 7000 rpm, leaving it with a 4.5 seconds 0-60mph sprint time and a top speed of 188mph.
The most telling shots we’ve noticed reveal an obviously lengthened wheelbase, a new Targa variant along with a completely revised engine compartment, deck lid and wing. The interior shots show a Panamera-inspired center console. The new 991 Series set to be released for 2012.

No camo!
hard to tell what the tails will look like with the camo they have
horrendous from the rear.
+1. Combined with the rear view of the Panamera it looks like Porsche is joining the Chris Bangle school of unfortunate rear styling.
I've learned to take camo'd test mule photos with a 25 lb bag of salt.
+1
I'm betting that the rear is pure camo.

The new generation of the Porsche 911 aka 991 Series was caught by cameras without any camouflage driving around Germany. The video appears to be captured by an amature; and clearly shows the newly designed rear end and bumper in camouflage free production form. If you look closely at the end of the video, it also shows the new 991 series without the “Turbo” intake vents on the rear quarters.

The new interior appears to be well-designed and beautifully executed.
Wonder if the driver knows his red ejection button's on the passenger's side?
Anyway, now back to your regularly scheduled programming, and a nice 918 Spyder concept view as a bonus.

This console resembles that of the Carrera GT more than the Panamera and Cayenne design. Our guess is that the production version of the 918 will be slightly different.
