based on the way they have done the pana and cayenne, the S with the 3.4 will probably be the mid level model with the new base carrera to have...maybe that turbo 4? 912 redux? could be interesting!

It may be spelt "Britisch" in Germany but surely you still write "British" in the USA?

The more I think about introducting "S" and "RS" first, means a high fuel economy, maybe Hyrbrid, or 4-cyl Turbo is gonna come later as BASE "Carrera"!

Betternotbigger: this is obviously not a quote from an official press release people on this forum are very well capable of reading those and no I'm not prepared to reveal my other source.
As for your correction of my typo; I know "British" is the correct spelling but I'm sharing this info while sitting on a beach with my leg in a cast and the screen is sometimes hard to read. I'll try to be more accurate just because of you... BTW are you able to read/write in Dutch, German, English and French?

would not seem the porsche way to have an S and RS for the 991. the RS has traditionally been a rear wheel drive super version. where is the C4S going to fit in? i would think an all wheel drive model would be available at the highest end. I will believe all this when I see it.

None of these rumors (they are just that: rumors) are new; they were all out there prior to the VW takeover. And as I mentioned previously, prior to the future CAFE regulations. This is all the EU's doing. However, if it's lighter and maintains the current performance envelope, that can only be a good thing in terms of handling. But with a long wheelbase and 3.4 motor, it does sound a lot like a Cayman 2+2, not a 911.

Speculation is not that the Carrera RS will replace the GT3RS; rather a sort of designated model for the PowerKit option between the Carrera S and GT3. Since the upcoming 997 with PowerKit will be called the GTS, seems to me they should stick with that nomenclature rather than confuse and degrade with an RS in the Carrera line-up.

The CAFE issue hurting Porsche in the US is the inability to get a waiver to average in with the VW fleet, not the 2016 standard itself. And that waiver isn't being issued, why? I think its because the EPA wants to stick it to "those rich guys buying Porsches" - its part of the class warfare approach.

...... or could it be that the Corvette ( which got a waiver by the way) is part of the Government owned General Motors and a market competitor to the Porsche........ just a guess
