991.1 air filter labor rates?
Just got quoted 3 hours of labor Just over $1k, to change my air filter? Pelican indicated it only takes an hour. My only local indy also claimed 3 hours at around 900. Seems high,
I've removed the rear bumper 3 times now and each time it gets a little faster. 30 minutes is about how long the last time took, add in a few more minutes to change out the filter and I can't see more than an hour of labor. 3 hours is INSANE. This is a pretty easy job that you could try to do yourself.

I can get the bumper off in about 15 minutes, maybe another 10 minutes to get to the air filter, and another 15 minutes back on, add in some screw around time checking things out. Maybe give them the benefit of the doubt and assume 1.5 hrs. The air filter is surprisingly expensive at $115 on Suncoast.
It's so easy to do..plenty of videos online to help you.
I just showed my "noob" buddy how to do oil change, filter, and SS brake line swap with new fluid and Speed Bleeders...That was 3 hours total.
They're padding a little bit, but not much. Book time is 2.2 hours.
It's a great DIY task. The bumpers are extremely easy to R&R. Highly recommend just doing it yourself, there are plenty of how-tos available.

I have done this for the first time and if you have a second set of hands to help it is pretty easy for a first timer. Alot of Indy shops want almost as much as the dealer. The filters are cheap no way would I pay 1k they probably don't need changing how many miles on them

Sounds like everyone is trying to scam everyone in everything! Seemingly unrelated, I got a quote for a small bathroom remodel, where I bought the materials, and it amounted to about $300 per hour for handyman type work in the house over a two week time frame.
Sounds like a pricey Indy?....but then i never have my Indy do one thing at a time (except an oil change). No idea what he'd charge to just do an air filter? Always have at least a couple things done when he dives in. The benefits of "while you're in there" pricing. can be significant and lesson the blow of maintenance costs. Miss the days when i was willing/able to DIY stuff but that was decades ago. At my age (with a bad knee and shoulder)....it's really not a choice anymore. Gotta get done what needs to get done....and it's never "cheap"
So many write ups on how to do this.

EDIT: Found it:
Pretty straight forward.

As others have said..........RUN.........as you are just pissing money away. Even the most novice mechanic can access the filter in less than 20 minutes as it about as basic a procedure as you can get and with all the service info and videos out there, it's hard to screw up. Changing the filters and cleaning the housing is another 20 and then reassemble. How someone could look you in the face and charge you $1K for what amounts to a little more than an hour at the amatuer level is beyond reproach. Do it yourself and take the wife to dinner with loads of cash to spare.

It's super straight forward, but def intimidating at first if you never removed a bumper before. IMO the hardest parts are unclipping the connectors behind the bumper - the angle and how stuck it can get is a pain.
Good Luck
