I have a 911 and I'm quite happy with that. Deciding which is "better" is a very personal choice. There is an overabundance of choice and it all comes down to what makes an individual happy. Saying one's personal choice is best IS correct.....for the person making the statement.

these threads always seem to devolve into NA vs turbo fight clubs

"enjoy your .2 dyson"
"enjoy your slow .1"

we could also do a MT vs PDK flight club and then everyone goes to different corners and former foes become friends.

Needs to be more specific: MT .1 Cab vs. PDK .2 coupe.

Not sure I understand your comment? Not criticizing but curious.

Tongue in cheek response at how these threads seem to deteriorate into NA vs turbocharged.

991.1 and 991.2 had what is likely the biggest engine changes since the switch to water cooling in the 996. As it was done for the facelift model we do end up with what is a significantly different car despite much remaining the same. I too wonder if there should be a subsection for both but also see many similarities although those similarities include all 991 models, GT and Turbo (big T) included. Subsections for the many different models thins the number of active participants and resulting input so I'm torn on whether it would be helpful. Or we pick through what's relevant to our individual needs and enjoy these great cars.

I’ve owned lots of P-Cars. Some with a aftermarket exhaust. Sounded good but never really felt that fast. Getting a 991.2 was a game changer with all that low end Torque. Also, with sport exhaust sounds good enough. Most 911 are quiet unless you get very aggressive with mods and flat 6 is never going to sound as good as any stock Ferrari, Lamborghini, Audi R8 etc.

You have a good point. I was driving twin turbo BMWs and Merc twin turbo V8s when I decided to look into the 911 world (after my intro to Porsche with the purchase of a Cayenne Diesel). The 991.1s, while super cool just didn't impress with power. I drove a friends 997.2S cab MT and was surprised at the lack of power - or maybe no one told me to rev the heck out of it. Then the 991.2 came along and all was right with the world. The V8TT Benz was traded and all is right with the world. That said, we picked up a new Boxster GTS 4.0 last fall, still under break in miles. it seems to be pretty quick and the PDK makes good use of the available power. And it does sound pretty good. Mix message, I know.
