991.1 vs 991.2
I owned 991.1 C2S with aero kit and currently drive 991.2 C2 with every performance options added and APR stage 1 tune. NA engine are overrated, slow and I spent tons of cash with minimal performance gains. Compare to today standard it too boringly slow, sound doesn’t make me excited.
my current car make 470 hp and 400 torque and APR tune essentially eliminate most of turbo lags. Since turbo are small anyway, the car behave like NA at speeds. Giving choices between 991.1 or .2, I still pick .2 all day. My .2 sport exhaust under load make wonderful sound to my ears and pop and crackles on deceleration put smile on my face. My Ducati Panigale couldn’t get away from my 991.2.

Anyone who wants speed should go 991.2. For me, I don't track, and even with the slow 991.1 there is not much opportunity to drive it flat out. The linear output and wonderful sound with a manual is enjoyable as a daily driver without getting to crazy speeds. But if you track, you'll want that speed.
I also had the artificial pops and bangs programmed out with a tune. Again some people love them, some don't. I don't know why there is a debate between the cars because when being driven they are so very different. It should be immediately obvious which one someone prefers when driving. It's like the Hogwarts sorting hat.

Also correct me if I'm wrong, but depending if you like the 991.1 or the 991.2 it probably sets you down a path towards your endgame:
991.1 manual --> you want a GT3 Touring
991.1 PDK ------> you want a GT3 RS
991.2 manual --> you want a T
991.2 PDK -----> you want a Turbo S

991.1 PDK ------> you want a GT3 RS
991.2 manual --> you want a T
991.2 PDK -----> you want a Turbo S
Very true, I just meant that if money were no object, if you like turbos, you want the big Turbo. If you like NA, you want the big NA. I'm in the NA camp, but I can't justify the cost of a GT3 so I was happy tweaking my GTS.
I have no interest in PDK or AWD (or wide body). I’m happy with my NB, RWD, MT car. No interest whatsoever in a Turbo.
My response was to XLR82XS, not your situation. My decision matrix would expect if you are ok with turbos and want a manual that the "perfect" car would be a T. I mean if price is no object. Or is there something about about the T that's not ideal?
The 991.1 and 991.2 forums need to be two separate ones. Two different cars. Yes, some similar body items. Not sure why rennlist combines.
Clearly, manual 991.1 is the leader of whatever version... and who cares about the T, etc... thinner glass, give me a break. Tangerine is blowing smoke. Just picking... just stop the endless do-loop.

They're all good cars brent.
I'm super happy with my manual 991.1 GTS 4--a non purist spec! I even, gasp, have all seasons on it and drive it all year in the PNW.
Everyone is right as long as you have something you love about one of the flavors of 911 to fit your use case.

With a hi flow header and sports exhaust. Perhaps some hearing aids are in order ?
