Agree, drove my GTS .2 today and this topic in mind.

Had before a 991.1 Carrera S manual with a Kline exhaust, is a nice car with a exhaust note so lovely.

The .2 has PDK, with the power delivery a PDK is a must. Also it works so nice the PDK box, always in manual it works so nice. Keep also in mind PCM 4 and all other upgrades you get with the .2.

Next upgrade will be the exhaust, yes you can get more drama from exhaust note but it will never be a NA engine ofcourse.

Yes get the .2 !

This is why I could not understand the tempest the 991.2 caused in the Porsche world. Porsche has been making Turbos for 50+ years, never understood the resistance besides the different sound track.

I installed the Softronic tune on my .2 C2S a few weeks ago. Low end torque is simply amazing and it pulls hard all the way to redline.

The GIAC tune on my sold 991.2 was amazing, It pulled like a rocked once you hit 2nd gear and the tires would hook up.

In reading these responses it makes me reflect. Would I trade my MT .1S for a .2 PDK ? There is not even a sliver of a chance I would trade for a newer, lower mileage car. I think I might trade for the new lotus Emira with low miles though as that platform is interesting and high reving. I have driven both and the .2 while a bit faster with a tune just lacks drama and the PDK is like an electric car with a faster shift but somehow always reminds me of a hertz rental car.

i realize sound is subjective but IMO the sound of the two is not even close (even more so with Soul Cats and PSE). You don't really pick that up from youtube videos. The 991.1 NA motor sounds way better and has a greater sense of occasion when ripping it. The harder you push the 991.2 the more it sounds like a vacuum cleaner.

@Bud Taylor It is a endless battle between PDK and Manual, I always say take that what you like there isn‘t a bad choice.

I also came from a .1S, loved it but could get this .2 GTS and this is a very other animal and fell in love with it end of story.

@FLN2LO If you rev out a .2 in sportplus it doesn’t sound a vacuum cleaner in my opinion.

The „problem“ with the .2 is that you don‘t have to rev it out, you can however. In a .1 you need to get it between 4500-6500 revs to get the nice NA sound and it is lovely much more different as a .2.

The .2 is superior on paper in every metric. It's for sure the better car.

Come on .1 fans, just leave it alone. Otherwise no one will be able to afford.1 MT cars the way prices are going...

NA sucks! Slow and old tech! If you own one you should trade up!

The .1 has it's advantages with the raw N/A engine. The sound of the 3.8 is beautiful when paired with up with a nice exhaust. The .2 is also extraordinary with it's updated looks and turbo. The power is unmatched! With simple mods, anyone can achieve insane power levels.

I had a 2014 911 and now a ‘19T and the harder I push my T the more I feel like it sounds similar to my 2014. My T sounds great above about 6k, below that not great. Why I added Kline headers and Soul cats. The 991.1 does sound amazing up high.
