Replaced Door Check Straps on my 991.1
Replaced both door check straps on my 991. Both were creaking when opening doors in both hot and cold weather, lube didn't help. Note: Same exact part and procedure 991.1 and 991.2.
Interestingly, I found the drivers door check split / cracked. So, I'm glad I did it. New part # is 991.537.151.01 which replaced the originals 991.537.151.00. Here are pics.
Pretty easy repair based on several threads here with instructions on how to do it.
New (-01) and old (-00) parts look absolutely identical to me, I wonder if the friction material is different. Both also say that they are made in Czech Republic btw.
Door panel off
Showing the plastic trim piece that covers the 10mm nuts that hold the door check to the door.
The 8mm triple square bolt. Same as the axle bolts on my 944 Turbo, so I had the tool on hand.
One of these rubber buffers between the door and door panel fell out and was broken/cracked when I removed my drivers door panel - will replace next time I order parts. Probably important
Old ones out of the car... drivers was on the left. Look at the crack on the bottom of the drivers. You can compare to passengers, on the right -- no crack.
Close up of crack
Another crack shot

Heat constantly causes this rubbing / creaking noise. Mine were replaced back in 2019. Based on your find will check mine out again. Interesting that our Lexus never has had this issue. I recall having a 2002 BMW that drove me crazy with this noise. Nothing works except as you said replacing . Why have the Japanese solution this while Germans have not ?

Ahh, good question! But no - no replacement of speakers. To remove the door check, you undo that 8mm triple square on the car, then 2 10mm nuts on the inside of the door ... then it slides out rearwards towards the rear of the door. So to remove it from the door, it comes right out the speaker hole.
Pretty slick design for maintenance actually. By comparison, I replaced a door check on a Mercedes once that required removing the window regulator and window. Ugh.

So here's a picture of the bolt (it's in the frame of the car).
And a diagram I found online of what the triple square looks like
The socket I bought looks just about like this: www.homedepot.com/p/TEKTON-3-8-in-Drive-x-M8-Triple-Square-Bit-Socket-SHB18208/326895270

It sort of looks like a Torx yes but it's not the same.
The door check straps are attached to the inner door frame of the car with the bolts that have female M8 triple square heads.
To unbolt them you need the male socket, M8 triple square.
PS - You really don't need to order new bolts as the car already has the bolts... didn't use new bolts, just re-used the ones that the car was built with in 2013.

The part number is: 991 537 557 00
They are proud of them . . . retail is ~$22.00 each.
Part 7 in image below:
I highlighted in RED the one you are missing:
NOTE: The buffer on the far left of your image is backwards (YELLOW highlight) .. you can flip it while in there ... just because you can.
