87 in a 55 a few years ago in GA. $500 to the attorney, about $300 fine, online defensive driving course and my super speeder was reduced to just a speeding ticket. Happy I was aggressively decelerating when he got me. Good luck. Meanwhile, we let aggressive criminals just go, I shall refrain from saying more….l🙄

I got 3 reckless tickets between Oct 2022 and September 2023 after moving to VA

Get a lawyer, pay what they want and this will go away in most states ( especially when none of mine showed up on my record and I am in Virginia!!)

Good luck, and slow down ( I have)

Default Call the clerk of the court

And ask them some of the lawyers they see most often in traffic court. Hire an attorney and tell them to make it go away. Make sure the attorney you hire does not ask you to show up (this can only hurt your case). Pay the money and do not ever plead guilty. The judicial system is pay to play and chances our the attorney will cost less than the ticket. In Florida, we have the ticket clinic but the one's Ive gotten in SC I have used the clerk to find out someone who is in the regular courtroom workgroup.

I don’t want to get popped and go to traffic court, but I admit when it happens and you hear all these wild stories from people as to why they were speeding, it’s sort of fun to hear. Years ago, I had to go…two cases before me some very high maintenance blonde was in court for being popped at 100 in a 50, when asked why she was going so fast, she actually told the judge that she’s always being followed by guys and she speeds to get away from them, inferring she just sooooo hot that she deserves to be allowed to speed. The whole court chuckled, and the judge gave her max points and max fine. As she got off the stand, she mumbled something under her breath…the judge gave her a stare down and asked her if she had something to say….she growled a no, and left. So hard to be blonde and pretty I suppose.

Thanks for all the advise! I did get a quote from a Ticket Attorney mentioned on hear and they quoted me $1,510. Seems high and no money back guarantee if they don't win!

no, it’s not …
You CAN be convicted of reckless driving, which CAN result in up to one year in jail … but nobody’s going get that unless they’re already have a rap sheet a mile long.

To the OP, get an attorney. Usually a attorney that lives in the same district/area where the ticket was issued is your best bet as they know all the prosecutors.

also, laser requires the car be sitting still, which means it probably was reported on Waze, unless it was on some back road that doesn’t get much traffic, so always run a secondary defense, like Waze.

Yep fight the ticket w a lawyer.

Anyone with a 911 and a lead foot should probably try using CarPlay Apple Maps, Waze AND the Escort DriveSmarter app in conjunction with a radar detector / laser jammer. Apple Maps (and Waze) are very helpful for others reporting speed checks, but the Drive Smarter app is a bit more sophisticated in how it reports back to users (I use it with a newish Escort Redline 360c (their top end detector). What is cool about it is, it reports automatically from users to the cloud, and back down to the users who then drive in the same area. I think it's the only one doing this now.

So for example. Someone else's newish Escort detector gets a bogey in x location on the highway. I'm driving towards that location. I have the Escort Drive Smart app in the background running on my phone (always do ... hopefully not a privacy issue but I digress)). Prior to reaching that area, I will get a voice notification though my CarPlay as Drive Smarter is CarPlay enabled -- telling me a radar detection spotted ahead (in addition to my detector going off if it detects something). Saves me multiple times a week. And then on top of that I'm getting the user submitted reports from Apple Maps, my in car detector and/or laser jammers.

I can't tell you how helpful and good this is.

90mph was a ticket, wow!! In an around Houston you drive 80 mph you will be run over. I was coming back from College Station on Hwy 6 and I never dropped below 90 mph for 40 miles and was being passed!!!!! Speed limit is 75mph. I routinely hit 120mph in my 911, probably 300 times over a couple years.
