Wireless Car Play for 991.2
I have a 2019 991.2. Car Play works fine when I plug my phone in, but there are also some menus in setup about creating hotspots, and obviously bluetooth works, so I was wondering if there is some way to make Car Play work wirelessly.
I did search, but didn't find an answer, and know there was a lag between the introduction of Car Paly and wireless Car Play, so maybe I'm just in that zone.

it won't work natively, but there's a component called Ottocast that can provide wireless carplay functionality.
You plug the unit into the USB port, and your phone connects wirelessly to the unit.
I don't have one, but it's tempting.

Well I got sucked into the hype, so I ordered one of those Ottocast things. Connected right away, seems to work great. Hidden in the console where the phone was.
Added a magsafe charging phone mount to the right of the center stack. The cup holder bumps into it, but it's not bad. (It's rare that I use it.) Charging cable tucked behind side panel then over to the 12V port in the passenger footwell.
So, phone connects to carplay wirelessly, phone charges wirelessly, and I don't forget the thing when I get out of the car.
Result!

I found CarPlay audio settings while my Otto cast is connected and CarPlay is active hit the home button. Then the sound button on the app screen .. that allowed me to set bass/treble etc for car play and had Bose settings at the bottom center. See if that helps. You may also be able to use the volume control on your phone when your connection is active.
