Default Tire repair

The MANUAL says, TIRE REPAIRS ARE NOT ALLOWED, so If you get a nail/screw in the TREAD of your tire IT MUST BE REPLACED ??

yeah that's what porsche wants you to do. they also want you to flush the brake system every.. 2 years? 4? plenty of people don't do that, either.

if it's more than a half inch or so from the shoulder you can repair it with a rope kit. prevailing wisdom says this is fine for street, but not to take it on the track like this.

This is the best plug kit I've ever used. I plugged a tire in about 5 minutes... it's pretty awesome!

Follow the tire manufacturer's patch instructions. Michelin allows three inside patches maintaining the speed rating if the patches are more than 90 degrees tire rotation apart. Pirelli doesn't allow keeping the speed rating with a single patch. https://www.tirerack.com/upgrade-gar...s-speed-rating

Yep. Patch, not plug. You'll be fine. You can expect to lose a speed rating.

‘Actually the proper method is a plug-patch. A “stick it in from the outside” plug should only be used in an emergency to get the car to a shop that can properly plug-patch the tire (or replace it).

I keep this kit in my car as well. It's come in handy before.

One of the reasons why the Stop and Go kit is so good. It is the same plug/patch concept.

Regarding brake fluid flush I too thought that it seemed rather extreme to do so every 2 years but I had a shop with an outstanding reputation in my area flush the brake fluid for me in my 991.2 GTS and they tested the old fluid and found a very high level of moisture in it and the car is garaged, never tracked and driven about 4k miles a year.

Agreed. And while I might not track a patched tire, I would not (and have not) hesitate to use it on the street.
