Default Quick question: Best place to buy parts?

Need to replace my S-PASM front air dam that is now 11 years old and slightly scuffed and replace my frunk hood struts that are not holding. Looked at Suncoast and just wondering if any vendors have better pricing?

Try FCP Euro or Pelican Parts. FCP Euro offers free lifetime replacement of parts when they wear out. So if you need new struts in 5 years, buy them, send your old ones back, and they refund the cost of the part.

PCA members can get a 10%off parts at Pelican. Pelican also has the best DIY tutorial write ups on just about everything a DIY'er would need.

ECS/Pelican. They offer the same replacement guarantee as FCP and often have better prices but YMMV. Personal take is FCP customer service and fulfillment consistency has gone downhill. I’ve used them for years for several cars and recently switched to ECS.

For harder to source OEM parts, Delaware Porsche Parts (tax free) or Suncoast.

My 991 list is
  • Sunset Porsche parts (Portland OR) which seems to have the best dealer prices. So for example I had to buy a new Alcantara headliner for my 991.1 and they were $2800 when everyone else was $3600 +
  • Sunset is cheaper than Suncoast parts (who I order from a lot) but they are easy to deal with and have good website that's easy to order from. But I do love Suncoast.
  • Pelican Parts is awesome. I watch out for aftermarket substitute parts though on certain items. Sometimes good. Sometimes not. They are clear on their site about what brand things are.Su
  • Get Silver Spring Parts .com - a MD porsche dealer. Also great. Bought 2 seat airbags from them in early 2024. Other online dealers incl Sunset wouldn't ship hazmat items, they would.
  • FCPEuro - awesome for consumables and certain parts. I buy oil change kits. etc.
  • Tires - I actually buy them from my local dealer. Great feedback loop to cover wheel damage if they damage wheels when changing tires, and usually will match tire rack prices. Otherwise, tire rack.com.

Everytime I dive into a major project on my car I never seem to be able to buy what I need from one source.

End up with many tabs open as I mix n’ match parts in carts. For example when doing brakes the only vendor that had the rotors I wanted didn’t have the pads in stock. Bought pads elsewhere, but then neither of those vendors sold replacement caliper bolts…so bought those from a third place. Then they all thought the flathead screws to hold the rotors on were made of gold plated platinum so I just bought some from the hardware store.

I use Suncoast simply because they have been great to deal with, they typically ship quickly and on the few occasions I’ve had an issue they quickly resolved for me. They also have a pretty extensive catalog, I rarely have trouble finding what I’m looking for.

I have used these for both Porsche and BMW parts (two separate sites). Dealership with all OEM and great service. Parts well discounted.

How about source for aftermarket stuff like carbon fiber bits? I’m looking to waste as much money as possible 😅

A lot of people here have had positive experiences with DB carbon. A little on the pricier side, but quality is top notch.

Can't speak from firsthand experience, but i've read a lot of posts here that speak highly of their products.

Thanks. I ordered a few things from them, but they then came back and said their production is backed up and it would be 4-5 months before they could produce, so I cancelled the order…

100% agree. Sunset, Suncoast, Pelican, FCP, Porsche Silver Springs are all oddly the ones I shop at for the same reasons.
