from 911.1C2S to 991.2 C4 base

from 911.1C2S to 991.2 C4 base
Hi guys,
Currently I have 2014 991.1 C2S and 2017 718 boxster S. I like both cars. 911 is a beast but the NA engine lacks pull at lower RPM compared to the 718 turbo engine.
I am thinking about trading it for 991.2 C2 or C4. I looked at the prices and it seems C4 is really expensive! More than C2S! Is there a reason for this? Would it be worth it to go from 911.1 C2S to 911.2 C2 or 4?
Just trying to get some advice let me know.

If you don’t need the AWD then don’t get the AWD.
the 911 is composed enough as it is. Unless you’re planning on upgrading and modifying the car for high power then the traction isn’t something you’ll need more of. For daily drives or cruises the C2/C2S/T etc will perform just fine.
If you like the turbo feel of the 718 then you’ll love what the 991.2 does.
Before you make a decision test drive one though.

I have a 991.2 C4 (with a 140hp tune added). It's fast as crap!
I got the C4 for the wide body which was the look I wanted. If you don't need the wide body or the AWD, scrap it and get a C2 or C2S.

Stick with the C2S, it's lighter and easier to buy wheels for LOL. This way you don't have to worry about the rotational percentage, etc. LOL. I would say drive each and see what your heart likes and go with it. You don't need everyone's approval on which one to buy....it's your car. Can't go wrong with either model!

People seriously overestimate their need for AWD, especially driving within the limits of traction on the street. Just get a RWD and enjoy the car the way it was meant to be, hopefully with a manual.

Actually one of the reason I was looking at c4 was just that. I want to get 991.2 C4 and tune it. Maybe even put GTS turbo on it. Basically getting a baby "911 turbo" out of it. I figured it would be good to have awd. But... used 991.2 c4 are super expensive, even more than 991.2 C2S...
I am sure even base C2 is fast too if its anything like the 718S.

In addition to slippery roads, the AWD can also, um, compensate for driving technique. No matter how unbalanced the car, the AWD can still put power down. But it still muddles with the feel of steering the front wheels, no matter how minimal Porsche engineering can achieve.

I DD my car in the winter (with winter tires) and have not had any issues getting around. There is a road that people will struggle to get up in if snow covered and the 911 does just fine. For that matter, my RWD C63 (with winter tires) made it up just fine, although the traction control light would occasionally flicker. This does not happen with the 911 unless I get my right foot into it.

I didn't go from RWD to AWD but I did go from a .1 C4S to a .2 Targa 4 base (400hp to 370hp). The only thing I miss from the .1 is the NA sound. The .2 really pulls, and everything about it feels tighter and more composed to me. Its definitely not as rowdy as the .1 and I do miss that aspect, but no regrets. Both are amazing machines.
