Or, purist could mean nice gauges, easy to use HVAC controls, higher quality leather and stitching ... and being able to avoid cheap looking plastic crap while listening to the engine ... yah, sure, ya had to push the engine a bit more, but you never would hear it with a turbo tiny mite.

Me too. I find it amusing is that if you like old school technology you are a considered a purist. If you like the best technology has to offer you are a ....non-purist. I suppose this thought process is flawed in the sense that if you are a guy driving a 993 air cooled NA MT Porsche another more pure purist prefers a Model T, a horse or a bicycle? I tend to doubt there are any purists racing Formula 1 and winning. When looking at a Ferrari F430 at a local spot some years ago, Jay Leno tapped me on the shoulder and said " I don't know about you but for me shifting with paddles is like having sex with a condom"
When I become a purist I will be looking for a car with a crank handle instead of an electric starter to really enjoy the pure automotive experience.

I've only had a 991.2 in my life but for me I prefer the performance of the 992 but the simplicity of the 991.2. I don't like how everything is going to screens and no buttons. I would like to have the least amount of technology, other than performance or safety wise in the car.
