Looks awesome man. Keep us posted. I would look into sport design mirrors.

Looking nice. Now that you've got it largely installed, are the bodywork gaps the same as OEM, or are they bigger. Any fitment issues that you had to work around?

The fitment gaps were pretty minimal. Honestly, I could’ve slapped the bumper on as is, but if I wanted it perfect just adding a little bit of filler and sanding it out

one thing I will add is the air duct for the front grills are much longer than needed to be. I think they might have done that so you can cut it shorter. But it needs at least 2 inches off.

The body shop I worked with seemed pretty impressed with the bumper fitment from the get-go though.

I think with enough finesse, you could probably squeeze the bumper into place without much work. But if you’re already spending money on the bumper, just pay a few extra bucks and have a body shop make it perfect.

I think the concern will come when the fenders come in. Realistically, I should have waited and done the bumper and the fenders together. But sadly, I was impatient. There’s a good chance that I will have to rework the bumper and the fenders when they come in. 😂.

Default First issue I need to sort out

so I was curious if the community would know the answer to this. Because I changed out the daytime running lights from 991.1 to 991.2 running lights. I seem to be getting a daytime running like fault code. I believe it’s because it’s a different voltage. I’m hoping someone has done this before and can tell me this solution. I’m hoping as easy as just rewiring a resistor

@raven_craft
I never had any fault codes. I didn't use any resistors or anything; Here is a quick write up:

Default Update to hood

Still haven’t figured out the deal yet, but going to try some resistors, if not. May be an issue where the power runs through the headlight ballast. And needs to be sorted with 7PP941597B.

did add a dry carbon hood, vents are open as it’s a fit for a gt3rs or gt4rs. So need to rather cap them or route it somewhere.

fitment on hood is amazing.
Would recommend Porschemaster.com

i picked up the hood directly as the guy lives in Irvine and has a whole garage full of Porsche parts.

Default Fender update

So my fenders finally arrived
But it looks like they actually sent me the wrong ones.

I received gt3RS fenders instead of GT2 fenders 🤦‍♂️

they still look nice but still debating on what I should do. I also don’t know how the fitment is on these. I used some Chinese company called SK racing.
They are much cheaper than other brands. I think both fenders were about $1500. Maybe this is a lesson to not skimp out on Porsche parts.

Not a fan of aftermarket body panels, i would try to find OEM or at least a highly reputable aftermarket option. You'll be glad you spent the extra money, trust me.

Default Upgraded rear wing

Just got the gt2rs wing in. Fits pretty close bolt on.
just has to remove the deck lid and the wing/motor

the trunk lid is much heavier with the wing installed so need to find a way to get it to pop open when the button is pressed of the lid will stay locked. Going to tinker with it a bit more or maybe ask the body shop to figure it out

definitely gives the car a more aggressive look with the wing.

(sorry been mia on this project. Had the air/oil valve replaced and all rubber tubing. Took a while)
and did a install of apple CarPlay with an aftermarket backup camera, ran into some issues there but seems to be working now.

Default Painted and fitted spoiler

Got the car back last week from the shop. Sadly, one on vacation so didn’t get to update.
But looks so much better

Will take better photos once the fenders are on and everything is pretty much complete.

Was a little bit concerned that the uprights were fiberglass and not metal but contacted Porsche, and it looks like they’re always fiberglass instead of aluminum. 🤷‍♂️ doesn’t seem like it shakes at all going 70 or 80. But not sure how it’s gonna hold up over 120. May upgrade to aluminum and find a CNC place.
