Yes driven both… The only reason I have been able to afford these cars comfortably is by buying at low miles and selling under 40k miles. The depreciation is negligible.
the power difference between the GTS and the 991.2? The GTS felt pretty quick though not as torquey as the 991.2.
^ looks like you’ve answered your own question. This coupled with what you’ve mentioned previously about picking up your kids in it, sways you to a 991.2 S.
In summary, the S will give you a lower mileage CPO car with newer tech and more power (potential for way more due to turbos) that you won’t feel bad about putting miles on. It has the same size back seats as the GTS, so your kids will fit either way. I see no reason how a NA GTS exhaust sound and character could provide enough of a reason to pick it over the S in your situation.
I'm assuming CarPlay is an addition to the stereo for Apple users? I just see that term the odd time on RL. My stereo is off all the time because I like listening to the engine.
And you are missing a manual to take the driving experience to a whole new level.
My sisters brother in-law does something like you’ve described but almost to an extreme. He buys a new sports car no more than every other year and really restricts how much he drives them so he can get most of his money out for the next one.
I’m of the other camp, I would like to keep my car for as long as possible and don’t shy away from driving it all I can (wife’s car is a Macan GTS but I’ll drive my car 99% of the time). I don’t buy for resell but would like to think when it hits 20 years old or so the 15-16 GTS is going to be preferable over even a lower mileage 2019 S, but I think you’re correct about resale looking 4-5 years ahead.
I would advise my younger self to do in the present what makes you the happiest (within reason), and wish I hadn’t worried about having enough for retirement.
Good luck either choice should end well.
No actually I don't shy away from putting miles. I just sell it before 50k miles and move the the next gen with lower miles. Since I wfh my lifestyle doesn't allow for high miles even though I use my fun cars for everything.
Thank you all. Ended up going with the the 2019 GT Silver 991.2S. Drove the 2015 GTS and the 991.2 S a day apart and in the end the mileage showed on the 38k mile GTS whereas the 991.2 felt much more responsive and just in better shape.
Car looks great!
I am sure I will see you cruising around the area.

Totally understand. I test drove six+ 991.1's a few months ago, and condition was all over the place, especially suspensions. My guess is most/all 991.1's need new bushings and/or control arms by now. CPO's were the only cars I drove that didn't handle terribly.
