Since I have had a burning smell it has made me think about having a FIRE EXTINGUISHER handy...what have YOU done to have one handy?

Whatever the mounting system, you will want a “clean agent” type extinguisher using Halguard or similar, rather than a dry chemical type.

I use the Bracketeer. Been using it on a .1 GT3, .1 Turbo S, and now a .2 GT3.


Depending on your seat config, can go in front or back. Just hooks straight onto the seat rails.

I just get out and call the fire dept. insurance takes it from there. I can't think of anything outside of a crash that would start a fire, assuming that you keep your car properly maintained.

This is true. I mainly keep it on the off chance I, or any of my air cooled friends, catch fire on a drive. Never had to use it. Although with the bracketeer, it's cheap insurance.

I didn't realize the 991 was so prone to catching fire.

The Element is a great choice. Fits snugly in the driver's door pocket, no need for a mount IMO.

I agree with your wife! It's what I think whenever I see such safety pieces on street vehicles.

Fire extinguishers are a safety requirement in most of the world and must be present at all times.

I am a fan of OEM stuff and @OEMExtinguishers is a forum sponsor who can supply us with what our cars would of come with from the factory.

Further, they can also supply you with OEM brackets and Extinguishers for other European brands.
