Plugs say Bosch. They also look like normal 20k plugs on a well running 20k Porsche. What info are you looking for. If you do not know the history of your car then replace at recommended interval. It looks like you have done that. Unless you are going to put those pictured back in. They look fine to me. What is interesting are the two black stripes. Oem Porsche are two green stripes and non oem Porsche bosch are two blue. Pretty sure anyway. They might of already been changed to different Bosch R6 plugs. Are they green or black stripes? Color in pics might be off. What are the part numbers on the bands.

thanks! I replaced with OE equivalent, they are 7x cheaper. I replaced based on assumed time interval. I was just making sure they looked as healthy as I thought. Thanks!

Changed mine about 4 months ago. These were the original. I think yours are a bit dirty in comparison. All my plugs looked identical. Went back with OE (OPB-905-612).

4 years, 20k miles

Plugs for a 991.2 are different plugs than plugs for a 991.1. I am still curious what Black stripe plugs the OP had installed in the first post. That answer could lead to better understanding of the whole conversation. Unless the OP has already tossed them and already replaced them with OEM equivalent ones. if so then we are just guessing on any answer given and will not matter until the next service interval or error code troubles.

Try to use a flash next time.

The original plugs in my 2015 GTS with about 6000 miles that I removed back in 2022. No city driving as I am on back roads.

And after cleaning of the threads and a flash coat of anti-seize and the appropriate torque, they were reinstalled.

Notice the "Original Porsche Parts" logo ( inverted triangle with a P inside) on Payamfsu's plug # 2 . If it is not original Porsche, then it is a fake.

The P = Pierburg and you can find that on Porsche parts back in 1995 as well and possibly even further back.

And any "fake" part can have that as well. We all know where these "fake" parts come from.

It's not for Pierburg - it's Porsche. It's on most if not all Porsche genuine parts... my 80's P-cars have it too. Read up here:

The ones in the pick are genuine Porsche the stripes are green I think the lightning made them black, I did replace them with genuine Bosch plugs
that are same exact part number just not Porsche brand for considerably less and are black stripe they are 100% identical part minus the branding.

Working on my older 993, I would see that logo next to Pierburg marked on the product itself. Pierburg is an automotive products manufacturer founded in 1909 and then became Rheinmetall in 1997.

So it appears they are different, after all, why would Bosch have that logo on it if they are separate companies unless manufactured under contract.

Thanks for clearing that up.

Hey there is a thought. The next time I have my spark plugs out for a replacement, I'll buy two extras, tap a 6061 chunk of aluminum that is just over an inch thick and torque the spark plugs till the threads snap at the hex. This based on a few owners that snapped a spark plug removing them. Although slightly different since they are not being removed, I want to see how much torque they can take.

The P in the triangle standing on its tip definetely is the Porsche trademark , registrated since 1965.
No connection with Pierburg. Pierburg, a subsidiary of Rheinmetall, also comprises former Mahle and Kolben Schmidt (KS) activities, but not Bosch.

The Porsche trademark is stamped on the Bosch spark plugs sold as "Original Porsche spares". The two rings on these Bosch plugs are green, if sold as aftermarket parts, they may be blue.
As "Classic Porsche parts" the rings may be blue as well, together with the said Porsche trademark stamped on the ceramic .

I wish I had seen the stripes on the replacements. I guess I’ll just have to wait another 4 years. My OEM were green though. Such intrigue. What else do we have to talk about?
