Default "Quietest" tires

For just "everyday" driving, No track etc...summer only. What do you find to be the quietest tires
I think the Michelin Pilot Sport 4's seem noisy ??

Michelin are far and away some of the quietest tires. rather than ask here, you can reference ratings on tire rack which have a rating for noise. Michelin tend to be very quiet tires overall, in fact, it was one of the original selling points of the PS2 when it launched.

scroll to the bottom.

for example, here, PS4S are rated 8.7/10 for noise quality.

I’ve had Michelin PS4S on three Sl550’s and my Porsche 911 Targa 4s. On the recommendation of several posters on the MB forum and here on the 911 forum I had Continentals installed this morning. With only 125 miles on them they are 8-10 decibels quieter on two roads I drove home than the Michelin’s and yes this was measured with a decibel meter. I’m going for a much longer drive tomorrow morning on some roads that were previously very loud to compare the difference. The Michelins only had 3k miles on them but after the recommendations I changed them out because I want the quietest ride possible. I hate loud cars and loud exhaust on long drives. These Continentals are all season…

The DWS06 is a wonderful tire, one of my favourites behind the General allseasons. I put a set on my Corvette this year and I've been loving them. Relatively quiet even with 335s out back.

I suspect you'd want something a bit more summer oriented down south though, so perhaps cross shop the Conti ECS to the Michelin PS4S.

Conti’s and Pirelli’s I find to be quietest for everyday driving and they also look best on the 911 IMHO. Had given Michelin’s many chances on many cars and found them noisy after the honeymoon. Very blocky ‘hot wheels or matchbox car’ looking tire as well. Just my opinion as 90% of RL fanboys will say Michelin regardless.

I think the michelin's just last longer Most of the road noise seems to come from the rear

if you aren't happy you can just sell used tires here and buy what you like... plenty of people will buy your discounted michelins.

$1500-$2000 doesn't seem like a lot of money if you really think your enjoyment will increase that significantly over a 6-7 year period.

and, you shouldn't keep tires on your car for more than 5-6 years regardless of tread wear. they have a shelf life beyond wear.

Any updates after your longer drive with the Continentals?

Yes, I have 560 miles on the Continental’s and love them. The 911 drives like a different car. Distinctly quieter. I was very hesitant at first to try something new because tires are so expensive but am very glad I did. Go on the Tire Rack site and read the many reviews on these specific Continentals.

Tesla and Ferrari spec tires have insulated padding on the inside of the tire if that interests you.

Yes, I know a bit about tires for EV’s and own a EQS 580 SUV. It is much more quiet on the road than any ICE I have ever owned. Some because of no engine/exhaust and some due to the different design of the tires.

I've run these on every other performance car I've owned and I love them. Looking forward to swapping my P-Zeroes for a set soon. I'm in Colorado and prefer the all-season flexibility.
