Default Musicar stage 1+

I happen to be in Portland, OR on business so I stopped by Musicar's shop. First of all let me tell everyone they are great guys! Very helpful walking me through their recommendations and installation processes. We talked about their stage two and three system upgrades for our 991 cars. They will hopefully have that system configured by end of summer. I purchased their stage 1+ which is essentially the tweeters in the dash, new speaker grills for them and their sound deadening system for the doors. Installation was straight forward. Replacing the speakers in the dash was the easy part, which is ironically, the part I was more worried about. The sound attenuation in the doors is not difficult, it just involves a lot of parts and pieces. It took me about 1.5 hours to do the whole thing.

Was this upgrade noticeable, most definitely YES! Was the upgrade enough to sway me not to buy the stage two or three when it comes out, definitely NOT. I can finally hear the highs of the system and the sound attenuation definitely helped the Bose system's bass and mid-range door speakers, but the factory Bose system still sucks.

I would highly recommend reaching out to the guys at Musicar for help in upgrading the factory Bose system, they are great guys and their product is of high quality! I can't wait until they come out with the stage two and three upgrades for the 991 cars!!

Thanks Nate for all your help!!!!!

I have Stage1+ and it's great. Enough for me in a noisy sports car.

Stage 2 and 3 has been out for a long time. Is there something new we don't know about yet?

It's always great when I have a chance to meet folks in person — glad you love the new sound!

We've had Stage 2 & 3 for the 991.1 with SPP and the 991.2 with Bose, but never for the 991.1 with Bose — That's what we're working on this year. There are a couple new interface modules we're testing to make sure we can put something reliable together.

I'm a new 991.2 Bose owner and I've been watching this forum with great interest. Where is the information on pricing and contents of each stage for 991.2 with Bose? Your site has some good information on it but seems to lack package/stage info. I think I saw a rennlist post at one point but can't find it now. Thanks!

The website is so outdated it's somewhat embarrassing. We're pretty close to launching the new design that's got much more focus on these kits. Until then, feel free to shoot me an email at musicarnw@gmail.com — I'm happy to reply with the info and current pricing!

i've got the stage 2 in my 991.2 and i love it

tempted to upgrade the door speakers and the mid range though. but it'll likely need to be retuned with the helix thing.............unless nick has some recommendations on what speakers one should use

otherwise it sounds awesome!

Being a .2 Cab and not sure how long I will hold onto this car its hard for me to drop $$ in the sound system to see it end up at the dealer in a year.

Working on a package for just that task — wait 30 days and you'll have a clear path.
