I have polished a windshield. It wasn't on a Porsche, but rather on a classic car with a non-original (aftermarket) windshield. The windshield was still probably 30 years old. Polishing worked for most of the shallower stuff and wiper streaks. There were quite a few bigger pits that I wasn't willing to spend the time to work out. It wasn't hard to do.

A few years ago I did a bunch of research on windshield polishing to remove pits. Can't be done.

Too deep. I can feel the depth of the pits with my fingernail.

I get a free windscreen every year with my insurance. I’m shocked that i have needed it every year.

I’m onto number 5. The first was pitted bad, the next 4 barely get used before a rock takes them out.

All OEM glass? I would never consider anything else. In my experience, not in my Porsche, aftermarket glass can ruin a car when it has distortion.

Don't forget: the closer you follow that slow car that's in your way, the more spray junk you will hit.

For those that have used insurance to replace the glass, does anything show up on CarFax from a damage perspective?

Insurance claim for a windshield does not show on carfax.
