Default Another "look at my rear emblem" thread

Hi all,
I took my 2013 991.1 in for some service and got the emblem updated as well. It was just "911S" when I got the vehicle, which I was never a fan of.
I had the shop do the full "911 Carrera S" and have to say I am disappointed with how it turned out. I was reassured by the mechanic when I dropped the vehicle off that they use reference pictures and line it up to spec. In hindsight I should have been very clear on what I wanted, so that's a lesson learned.
The problem, mainly, is that the "911" is way off to the left of "Carrera". The "S" to the right of "Carrera" looks fine. I saw in a different thread on this forum that someone had a very similar implementation of the emblem, and part of me thinks the shop actually used that pic as reference. 😵‍💫
Attached are two images. One in the light, one in a garage.
I'm going to ask them to move the 911 over to the right, but would love to hear from others on their opinion and suggestions.
Thanks.

Your car is worthless now. I think it's totaled!

The dealerships have a template that they lay across the panel for proper alignment.

Makes sense. This is from a small-ish shop that specializes exclusively in Porsche, not a dealer.

Definitely looks off kilter to me.

Can you get them off without ruining the adhesive that holds them on is a good question. I've never de-badged a 911, but if they're like every other mfg, you kind of ruin that double sided tape taking them off.

Just the 911 looks off kilter, or are there other details that jump out at you?

The left edge of the 9 should start about in the middle of the O above. Yeah, it is too far left by about an inch. The rest looks correct.

That's where I'm at too. I was using the letters of "P O R S C H E" to level-set as well, and am content with the rest of the set up spacing-wise. The "911" is just way too far over. I even looked at a different 911 (not an S) in my garage.
I'm going the double-check it's not tilted overall when I get home.

As mentioned above, there are jigs for each Porsche model to position these badges. It’s amazing how off it can look when the jig isn’t used.

Good news is the PORSCHE spacing looks right, which looks so bad if it's just slightly off. The Carrera is good too, so all that needs to be done is moving the 911 and S where they should be. Easy to do with some new 3m.

My opinion is less is more when it comes to badges, I don't like a novel on the back of my car.
My advice is to buy a new "911" badge and have it installed with a template. You will need to remove the existing numbers and buff the paint underneath. This assumes the Carrera S is in the right position.
See this thread where I made my own template. https://rennlist.com/forums/991/1341...e-success.html

Appreciate the feedback. I'll have the shop do it vs take it into my own hands.

The P looks a bit too left to my eye.

The engineer in me says break out the ruler / tape measure and check the distance between each letters leading or trailing edge.

It looks like they centered 911 Carrera S off of Porsche . If you look the 9 is under the O and the S is under the H if you moved Carrera to the left or split the difference 1 and the S.I Think it would be about right.

No problem! Take it to a place that has templates. If you look on my thread, there is no doubt the "911" is way to far left.
Good luck!
