My old car had model delete. I really liked it and I am not a fan of the novel below the PORSCHE.
I started by removing all the script, and I bought new letters.
Luckily, I had my old bumper with the letters to make a template.
I made a template with contractor paper and painters tape, cutting out the letters with a razor.
I had previously removed the "script" and buffed that area out, but the letters were too high.
I removed all the letters with a hairdryer and fishing line and then buffed the rear to remove all the oxidation around the old letters.
I then used the template to apply the new letters in the proper position.
Job complete!
Luckily with the 991.2 you can purchase a template from Porsche that is far cheaper then for 991.1, makes this job super easy, couldnt see how to do it without this template. But your solution absolutely works and is even cheaper then mine🙂👍
You can find the correct part numbers for the templates here: MC-10204066-0001.pdf (nhtsa.gov)
I believe Suncoast also has them listed on their website but I had to purchase the template in EU

So please excuse my ignorance on this issue. I would like to remove the mod designation below “PORSCHE”. What’s the best way? Since it was on the car when first delivered, will there be a slight paint difference where the letters were? It’s a 2015 Targa 4S.

@rwbern What you are asking is exactly what I did. On cars with model designation delete the PORSCHE badge is moved down to be in the middle of the bumper. You can remove all the badging with a hairdryer and fishing line or dental floss. Heat up the emblems and run the line underneath. You can then remove the adhesive with the hairdryer and goo gone plus your fingernail, Before you do this make a template for the PORSCHE letters. I then used the chemical guys 4 step buffing to remove any trace of the old badgers. There will be oxidation around the letters. The buffing with an random orbit buffer removes all traces of the old emblems. Mine is a 2013 and I was able to remove all traces. BEFORE you remove the PORSCHE badges, make a template as I described. Then move the template down and reapply the new letters.
