Things that seem to mitigate depreciation:
  1. Manual transmissions
  2. Targas
  3. X51 package/GTS (for the 991.1 since NA)
Just track down a manual 991.1 Targa GTS and you're set!

Agree. Depreciation rate of 991.1 Targa and RWD GTS are much better other models as I found out. I barely see any Targa S on sale and not even once a Targa GTS, than which I suppose buying a GT3 is cheaper now. 991.2 is a different story, since people (myself included) can't stop falling for NA I guess.
I chose my GTS coupe for its RWD + Widebody + Sportiest comfort + hardtop style. IMO coupe and Targa has the best curve among 911 models, and my next one would either be GT models or the targa.
Hope you can get one that suits your heart

I followed your 3 tips and I could not be more happier.

Huge congratulations, very nice spec. I’m sure you’re going to enjoy it. Cheers!

RE: CPO, and exhaust, etc. Nice bonus on that too if it remains in tact. I’m confident adding exhaust won’t void CPO. For example, water pump goes out. Someone takes the car in, they’re not going to deny a CPO claim because the muffler is not OEM. Alternatively, if you went in for something exhaust related and the factory equipment was different than that could be a different outcome. And yes, have seen a CPO car with a different muffler. Funny enough when I was at the dealer and they pulled a turbo up front to look at, the script was half ripped off and it was louder than normal. This is a Porcher dealer. Clearly this car should’ve had some reconditioning done before they ad hoc start showing to customers. Nevertheless, the salesman said it’s all stock. I looked underneath and it looked like a catless aftermarket system. Lol, didn’t say word to him and thanked him for his time. Wasn’t mad, it’s just indicative of the variety of experiences at these dealers.

Picked it up yesterday and drove it to CT - a dream.

However, not a fan of the Soul exhaust so far. It opens up at 3.5 rpm and makes the car sound like a roaring F1 car- lol. May have to override it and / or replace with regular PSE

Thanks for all the tips on depreciation. Guess we’ll see what happens !

Will take some more flattering pics at some point soon

Aftermarket exhausts aren’t for everyone. Nothing to apologize for there.
