Get the spec you want OP. You won't regret it.

However with that being said, personally I would choose 991.2 over 992. 992 price has been way more inflated that it should be. It's hard to imagine asking 10k over stickers for a 2 years car with 20k miles. At the time when you are selling the car, you will take a bigger hit with the ADM and the steep depreciation.

Yes.... However we'll never get back to pre-pandemic level where 2 yr old 991.2 sold at 75% MSRP. Get a CPO and just enjoy the drive.

Now you could actually get some pretty good deals with 991.2. But it takes time. I've been in the market for almost 2 years and snagged a mint CPO 991.2 with colors and options (SC, PSE) I want for 89k.

I've been enjoying the ride ever since and it's worth every penny.

The few I did find have the following prices (all are CPOs and all builds are pretty basic with Premium plus and premium wheels, no PSE, no Chrono or burmeister):
2017 991.2 S Cab - $93k + TTL - 22k ish miles
2018 991.2 C2 Base - $89k + TTL 30k miles
2017 991.2 C2 Cab - 87k + TTL 30k ish miles
2020 992s C2 base - multiple for around $115k + TTL ~5k-15k miles

My original inclination was towards the 991.2 and was hoping to snag something around the low 80s or possibly upper 70s, but I dont think thats going to happen any time soon (been in the market for almost 8 months now, though things would improve after the new year but here we are).

Just needed a sanity check from experienced folks which of the above model + price combination seems better value. I feel the 991.2 base coupe prices are way more inflated, but 992s are no different but at least they are the current gen and not almost 6 years old like the 991.2s. I understand this is a very complex question, but I’m really looking for some high level sanity check so as to not be disappointed/overpay on top of the terrible interest rate. Thank you and Cheers!
I was looking at the market for a year to find what I wanted and was expecting to purchase at the end of 2023. However, the car I dreamed of appeared in April and I pulled the trigger. $90k for ‘18 base coupe with PDK, Sport Chrono, Premium Package Plus, Sport Exhaust, RS Spyder wheels, Agate Grey w/ Black Leather, and CPO. My unicorn. My first Porsche.
I’ve put 1000 miles of smiles in three weeks and have zero regrets. What. A. Car!

No doubt financing is the wild card. Paid cash for mine. $147k CDN all in. I think if I had to add a loan I would have bought an S instead of base and just sucked up the difference as cost of pay to play. If that makes any sense.
