Oil Level not Shwoing on Dash

I just had the oil changed at an independent. Upon driving home I noticed the visual display showing the fill level under the Oil Level feature is not working. A message reads: Oil Level Information currently unavailable". The oil pressure measurement is working fine, and so is the analog oil display. Any ideas ???
Update: As suggested, I went out for a short drive. After I turned car off, then turned key back on w/o starting the car the display returned. All good.

On my 991.2 it takes about 30 miles before it displays the new oil level. If the level of the new oil is below minimum it alerts you immediately.

Lots of threads about this. Basically, you have to drive it longer so that the computer gets an accurate read. I’ve personally found that sometimes if
t only takes five minutes, and other times it has taken five days to get a reading. Sometimes really pushing the engine a bit into higher RPMs can accelerate the resulting process.

This is normal. I am guessing you have not had your car for very long? Let us know if something else is going on.

That is progress for you. Dipsticks worked so well for countless reasons. You can actually check if the oil that was just replaced was actually replaced by looking at the color, not to mention the level.

Just changed my oil this afternoon. Mine is a 2015 C2S and I’m also waiting for the display to come on. It always takes time. I really hate being forced to drive before I can confirm that I’m not over/under filled, but I’ve always assumed I’m ok when the oil pressure is in the normal range.

Any definitive source on what conditions need to be met to get a reading?
I know cold temps must not be a thing because when my car is stored for the winter I’ll often sit in it and jam out with the radio. It will display the oil level then and everything is ambient temperature.
Thought maybe I’d check it every gas station stop. Shut off engine, navigate to oil measurement and get the “not available” message. Maybe a timer after shutdown so the oil can settle before it allows a measurement?
Seems really random when it will and will not allow a reading.
