991.1 C4S spoiler tilted open on passenger side
Hi Rennlist, I came out to the garage and noticed that in the closed position, the passenger side of my rear spoiler is sticking up about an inch. I tried opening and shutting it but when closed, it still up about an inch. I made sure there wasn't anything underneath it preventing it from closing all the way but couldn't see anything that would cause this.
Does anyone have any pointers or tips I should like for? I saw some mentions of a spoiler spring which goes into a plastic assembly which can break causing the spring to get hung up. I'm wondering if this may be it? Are there any good write ups on how to remove the rear spoiler to see if this is the issue? I'm fairly mechanically inclined but do like referencing a guide when I can especially on a new car to me.
Thanks for your help!

When spoiler is lifted you will see two black bumpers that can be turned to adjust height of the spoiler when closed. Try that. Hopefully that solves it, but it appears that may not be the problems as the misalignment seems pretty substantial. It is probably a broken hinge as described here:

Check this out it’s probably the issue not hard to fix.

After checking out the thread posted above, I decided to tackle this job myself. I disassembled the rear end to get the whole spoiler assembly and motor off and sure enough, mine was cracked and the spring was loose. I made a metal bracket and riveted in place. The drivers side was fine but I went ahead and braced it with a bracket too as I’m sure it’s a matter of time before it fails. A few hours of work, a trip to the hardware store, definitely worth the savings.
