Upgrades Finally Done...
I think the upgrades are finally done to my 2013 991.1 C2...I said that last year but then went down the rabbit hole again. I bought the car just under 2 years ago and got lucky to find one right before the pandemic (so before crazy pricing) with full maintenance records and 30k miles on it. The previous owner kept every service receipt (and stayed on top of the service), tinted the windows, and took really good care of the car. It is my first 911 so thought I would have it for a year or so and see if I wanted to upgrade to a more powerful one or one with more options. Ended up becoming my daily driver so the track focused options went out the window for me and with prices climbing on the newer ones I decided to upgrade the cosmetics to my liking. Below are some photos and a list of what I did in case anyone else is thinking of these as potential upgrades:
Exterior:
Interior:
All in all the car ended up just where I wanted it with the NA engine that has enough power for my use and the modern comforts inside. Feel free to ask me any questions if you are on the fence on some of these mods!
Exterior:
- OEM ducktail- hard to find but got lucky on facebook marketplace and found one with the tail and all the mounting hardware.
- OEM RS taillights
- Soul carbon fiber exhaust tips
- Tinted windows
- Clear side-markers
- OEM sport front splitter
- Zunnsport grill set (sides and center)
- Continental DSW + AS tires
- "Carrera" door logo (was trying to go for a subtle RS 2.7 look with the ducktail and the Carrera decal on the side)
- Rear back-up camera (replaces one of the license plate lights)
Interior:
- 991.2 GT steering wheel (actually really easy to do- just expensive...)
- NM automotive apple car play module
- Alcantara A pillars
- New door panels with leather and alcantara (old ones delaminated)
- Aluminum trim on dash and center console
- Smoking package door cover thing
- Numeric racing aluminum pedals (really nice pedals if you are on the fence)
- Porsche carseat... daily driver with daily school trips for the 2-year old. Always asks me to "Vroom it" once we get home
- Porsche crested center console lid
- ultimate cup holder
- lids Frunk protector thing

Nice, tasteful mods. I'm thinking about the numeric pedals too. I know they're nice. And the frunk lid protector because I use the frunk a lot for all sorts of stuff. When your child outgrows that seat and needs a booster, I highly recommend the Hifold Mifold.

Thanks for the recommendation on a booster! I was surprised how nice the numeric pedals were when I got them in and installed. Feel more comfortable (didnt know that was possible) and solid than the OEM ones. Same here on the frunk lid protector as I use mine for everything and store a little german fold up stroller in it most of the time... best looks I got was pulling up to a PCA event with my toddler, dog, and wife in the car and then pulled out a fold up stroller from the frunk

Did you mount the ducktail yourself? Car looks great by the way!

i like it. lots of good mods and another 911 daily driver.
my only comment is about the aluminum trim. i actually covered mine with black vinyl because the reflections of the sun were too annoying. you may be undoing that one in the summer.

I did mount it myself. Found the Porsche manual for it online and it was pretty easy. The OEM duck has a whole new mounting plate that goes in so it’s a simple bolt on. Had my Indy reprogram the active spoiler off with a PWIS.

thanks! I had the glare issue with the plastic silver trim but haven’t had any with the brushed aluminum I put in. It’s more of a mat color and texture.

Very nice, love the Duck Tail.
Tier1 , you should definitely get the Numeric pedals. I also have a manual and I love the pedals, especially for heel/toe.

Love the duck tail. The brushed aluminum will blind you sometimes as well, it does in ours.
