Default Selling car but no responses yet: 2012 911.1 C2S $65,000

I listed my car here last week and haven't had any inquiries yet: https://rennlist.com/forums/market/1320869
It's my first time selling a Porsche so I thought I'd turn to the experts on this forum for help.
With winter in the Northeast coming, am I listing it at the wrong time of year? (Can store til spring if so.) With the possibility of a recession ahead, are few people buying today? Have I priced the car too high? I've had it for 16 months and 3K miles, have taken very good care of it, and have it priced it at about $10K less than what I paid/put into it. Fyi, I'm selling it because, after living in the Hudson Valley for the last two years, we are moving back to Brooklyn in December.

Any thoughts or advice much appreciated!

Rennlist members: It's a Porsche; it's meant to be driven. Drive it!

Rennlist members: It's been driven with too many miles. I would not buy it!

You 100% need better pictures. Make sure you wash/vacuumed too. Wheels make or break the car so a little tire shine pops.
I'm sure it's not, but it looks pretty beat up in the pictures. Try to take interior pictures out of direct sunlight, or else shadows and direct sun will look like imperfections or stains. Choose a background that goes well with the color. For some reason your car looks tan, not silver, in most pictures. I've photographed hundreds of cars for retail listings. Goodluck!

Nice car but high mileage and current economic environment are affecting pricing. I'm not sure you would get that right now.

Thanks to you both. The car is in beautiful shape but I see what you mean about the photos. I'll try again when the rain stops. Can't do anything about the mileage but the car is in great shape. With maintenance, it should last for years, but it's true, all things equal, higher mileage cars will be more expensive to maintain. You may be right about the economy. I'm happy to negotiate price and try again in the spring if need be.

I think it's a decent price to be honest, especially for a S. The milage will certainly scare some people off. I agree with rp4s911, clean it up realy good and get some detailed pictures. I would check out Bring a Trialer and get a good feel for what kind of pictures show off the car best. Have you listed it on any other sites? Pca.org if you are a Porsche Club member, cars.com, carguru.com, etc

You have a lot of competition at that price point a simple search of cars.com will tell you that. Also some may be turned off by the custom audio. (If done well, its great. If done poorly you could be in for a rats nest of electrical fun) Sports cars (non awd ones) tend to do better in the spring, of course who knows what the economy will look like at that point, interest rates etc.

Be patient she’ll sell. The pics and price is fine. I’d also put an ad up on Craigslist. Oddly my last Porsche sold to a dealer back East through Craigslist. Was a flawless transaction.

I have a 2013C2S Aerokit with 27K miles which I keep in Red Hook. I have seen similar listed in Panorama for $70-80K.
Good luck!

Does not seem like you’re a sensitive soul if you’re asking but here goes (I saw your listing before seeing this thread):

-clean your entire car interior and exterior. Might be worth $120-150+ for a pro cleaning… we do this for $5000 cars we are selling and it pays! You could also make a weekend of it yourself with some of the many YouTube pros who spell it out.

-pics. Your framing and lighting is way off. You’re going to take new ones anyway after the thorough cleaning.

-your aftermarket audio upgrades may not mean much to potential buyers and may scare some off. I’m not sure if it’s worth the cost to reverse though.

-I think you are priced fair. Lots of comps in your range but I don’t think your car is necessarily worth much less if you have the patience.

Hope that was a little helpful. Seems like a fantastic daily driver!

I agree with ktecr above. Wait for a bright overcast day, will make all the difference. This is a good example: https://www.fawsittmotors.com/listin...rrara-s-coupe/

Looks like you have the OEM radio still. I would at least make that an important notation early in the ad. This ensures you get the attention of fellow audio lovers, and the purists. It sounds like it's one killer set up, but even when I looked through the pictures I thought "oh no, aftermarket radio".

Another note, whether it's your preference or not, put some emblems on the rear even if it's just the 'PORSCHE" one.

Please don't take these as negative criticism, we're just trying to think like the buyer to help you sell. I know from experience, us Porsche guys are super picky an **** about the little things. It's a automotive sickness.

Take photos during golden hour just prior to sunset. It’s really that easy. Silver looks great at this time. Overcast day will make silver look flat and boring.

Totally disagree regarding the price…. With those miles it is at least $5-6000 too much. Just sold 14 C2S , 43k, loaded with options, $121,000:MSRP, absolutely immaculate, complete service history back to when sold new, and fresh tires. Clean car fax, white w/ light grey leather. A no drama, no apology 911S. $79000.

So you think his is worth $20k less than yours? That seems like quite a penalty, even with his higher miles and aftermarket stereo.

At $65k, he's in Cayman money territory. Someone could jump into a 911 for Cayman money. It would be a great starter 911. I think his price is pretty reasonable all things considered.
