Default 2014 991.1 S intermittent rattle in engine compartment

Hi everyone. My 911 has a very strange intermittent rattle from the plenum area, closer to the passenger side. There isn’t a loss in power and it only sees to happen when the rpm is low or near idle. It happens both with and without the AC on….. Also happens in regular or sport mode.

Here is a link to the video.

Has anyone heard this before?

It sure sounds like it could be. I dropped the car off at the dealership. Luckily, it’s under the CPO warranty.

I would try a throttle body reset, then listen again. At idle I feel the throttle body is pretty active trying to make sure the engine doesn't stall LOL.

Will do!

It’s such an odd sound. I figured someone else would have encountered it. At the very least this will hopefully be helpful to someone else in the future.

I’m with you guys… probably something TB related.

Default Resolved

Hi everyone. Just a quick note… throttle body replacement resolved the issue.

Glad that seems to have solved the issue. The good news is that even once it's out of warranty, the Bosch throttle body for these cars is very inexpensive and easy to replace!

Thats good to hear!

I forgot to mention, the ECU TB reset didn’t fix it.
