I have a 2019 GTS and no commute. Have 31,000+ on it so far. I invested in having great fun driving and I’m getting my money’s worth.

But that’s just me. OP, it doesn’t matter what anybody else thinks. Do what you think is right, hopefully what makes you happy.

Nice

Just under 12k miles on my 2019 GTS which I daily drive in the summer, but that is just half the year. I also try to drive my E63 here and there in the summer (it is a 2015 with just over 30k miles, but we bought it in 2019 with 7k miles).

Definitely do not try and avoid putting the miles on our vehicles but the mileage is spread among 4 vehicles.

Keep driving. Cars are for enjoying. Your career for making money. Mutual funds for investing. I haven't heard of anyone being on their death bed saying they wished they enjoyed their life, things and hobbies less. Good on you for enjoying.

My 2014 911 50th Anniversary Edition has just shy of 85,000 amazing miles. Driven it all over the country and Europe. Can't wait to eclipse more than 100K miles by the end of next year. Our 1988 911 has over 165K miles, our 08 Cayman just passed 100K and our 2019 Macan is over 50K miles. Drive them with gusto and passion and you will be rewarded far beyond resale value. Just from doing routine maintenance, I am very familiar with all of the vehicles and can troubleshoot stuff pretty good with no formal training.

Follow me for more tips.

None of the guys above are particularly depressed over the mileage of their cars nor the condition of their front ends. I suspect largely because it represents the use the car has seen and the memories they’ve made while on adventures with their friends. These guys are way cooler to me then those who show up and immediately get the detail spray out because they’re stressed about the bug guts possibly staining their PPF. You do you, but my life is happier when I let go of that anxiety and just enjoy the car like it’s meant. Sure, I may “lose” more when I sell the car, but there is always someone willing to step into a well maintained driver, and what I gain is a lifetime of happiness and enjoyment.

These cars are dynamic sculptures and are best appreciated when driven regularly in the manner the engineers intended.

I feel the same way about my motorcycles.

Ride them, don’t hide them.

I'm equally surprised as everyone else by the question. I'm going to spend $160k for my 992 C4S. I intend to drive it on as many roads, kill as many bugs, and wind out that engine as many times as possible. And I will do all of those with a massive grin on my face. Hopefully, these cars are rewards for prudent financial decisions, not an asset in an investment portfolio trying to maintain its value. Cars depreciate. If you're trying to preserve the value of your "investment", you picked the wrong asset class, IMO.

Congrats, I know it’s off topic but post the spec and details sometime.

I hit this milestone this morning, on my way back to LA from Palm Springs. 2016 GTS. The next milestone is 20,000 in my 2019 Touring. Between the two, I have about 70,000 miles in 7 years. I'm shooting for 150,000+ for both cars. Fortunately, God willing, I've got another 30+ years of driving left in me.

It is better to drive your car regularly for trips of at least 30 minutes (15 miles) twice a day. This is what a Porsche Master Mechanic told me. Cars that sit have way more issues. That being said cars with less than 15,000 miles do command a premium of some amount depending on age. However, what price do you put on enjoying your Porsche. You didn't buy it to make money in most cases.

My ride is a loaded 2014 991.1 C2S MT. I retired early but developed Prostate Ca and a pulmonary embolism. The point being is that with my medical issues, I barely could drive my car. When I do go out I call it "Porsche therapy" and it feels wonderful. Best medicine ever invented!!!
