Default Options for more negative camber

Took my 991T to the track yesterday. First Porsche for me. The car performed great, although it pushed quite a bit (understeer) in tight corners - at least compared to my ND2 Miata. I was on stock size MPS4S tires inflated to about 34F/37R hot.

I haven't had it aligned yet (I assume it's at or close to stock alignment). It feels like the first step to reduce the understeer might be to increase negative camber in the front. I've heard you can only get a little over -1° camber in front with stock components.. Is this true? What are my options to get more and do you think this is the right first thing to do to reduce understeer in these cars on track.

To adjust camber need to move either bottom or top of strut in/out, so would need adjustable top hats/camber plates at the top or adjustable control arms at bottom.

I think you can get close to -1.7 or 1.8 on the front if you adjust the top bolts to their limit. I would try this first in the alignment.

Agree-max out stock settings and get all you can out of the car before you start investing is add on bits. MPS4S are not great tires for the track and if your camber is not maxed, fix these first.

Yes, and plenty of very aggressive road driving. To include a Tail of the Dragon trip last month. It ate that road up with this alignment. I also have RAS, which 'track boy' above will be along shortly to trash talk but most def helps with what you're looking for once you get used to how it does its thing.

Good luck!

I was able to get -1.9 with stock front upper mounts. No regrets.

I installed GT3 style lower control arms from Tarett, and got a supply of camber plates with the same order. Running about -3 now.

Tarett has at least 3 different solutions for this.

Control Arms, 996/997/991/992 (tarett.com)
