991 (Base) Carrera with Ohlins Road and Track Coilovers
Just installed Ohlins Road and Track coilovers. I lowered the car exactly 20mm front and back. Doesn't look lowered much, but I don't like the "slammed" look and thought that lowering it to PASM height would be a great compromise for the road and track, pun intended. Pics from last night after install, corner balance and alignment. Thinking about going a bit lower, but wanted to give it a chance to settle. Took it on a 120+ mile drive to Court and back to the office this morning to get it settled, went back to correct alignment (car was pulling slightly to right) and now it drives perfect. The ride is really that good.

Ha! You have PASM as standard which I hear is great for the street, but I started a thread on the Racing Forum and Jake951 (who has Ohlins on his 997 GT3 which he tracks) says he'd never go back to PASM and that he likes the Ohlins better.

I could do a little lower, but probably won't. I'm at Sport PASM height right now and don't think I want or need to go lower. Handling is drastically improved. The stiffer springs and better shocks really make a difference. Not sure if this makes sense, but the car seems like it's going slower because it handles everything better.

Three Wheelin'
I've always loved the passive suspension setups. Feel more intuitive to me than active. Have PASM Sport and PDCC on mine along with a DSC box and it's pretty great. Would love to ride in a Ohlins R&T car if anyone in the Bay Area has one to try.

The stock spring rates on a base are an absolute joke. I couldn't believe the numbers when I saw them the other day.
24/48 for BASE.
33/108 For my 991.2 GTS
45/120 FOR GT3.
I am thinking of doing tractive active coilovers. I already have the DSC module. I am considering 80/150 for spring rates. Once again, I am not surprised that adding springs would transform a Base, as 24/48 is ridiculously non existent.

Congrats, but the most important question is, What spring rates?

bottom out? No, that's the beauty of the the ohlins set up, I'm sure I'm running the same spring travel as you are per specs for install, the height is is where you and I are different, while maintaining the the same pre load for the springs. Other set ups like KW and Bilstein, the change in height also changes the spring pre load. What settings are you experimenting with? I thought with the all the weight being in the rear, I would have them stiffer than the front... but from my experience so far, that's not the case.

70/120 would be a massive improvement on a Base. 45/120 is GT3. I am thinking 80/150. I drive pretty hard, and I like to track.
