Mine arrives today ( and I pick up my 991T tomorrow). This is great timing! I use AA all the time in my two other cars. We are going to try it in wife's Mini. The nav in her car sucks.

Can anyone confirm it comes with correct short USB to USB-c cable? It appears to in Amazon, but I can't tell for sure.

Yes. I wish it was about half the length as you really only need 3". I think it's about 10"

Installed yesterday on my new to me 2019 991T. Set up was a breeze as mentioned above. Connected right away after connecting to BT from unit. I'd say it's a little laggy and it cuts off the very end of voice cues on Google Maps. Otherwise it's a GREAT addition. Now gotta figure out how to get it working on wife's Mini.

The fact Porsche never had phone support for so long is ludicrous. Hyundais and Kia’s had Android Auto before Porsche. And it was either standard equipment or really cheap!

That's in the past, a cheap viable solution is now available. Looking forward maybe Porsche will see the use of this device and change their decision and step away from the apple handcuffs. If they don't, it doesn't matter as the market has solved either way.

I haven't tried the U2-X in my 911 (I have the NMAutomotive PCM 3.1 upgrade), but in my Genesis GV80 it is buggy as hell. I had their first hardware revision, and now I'm on the latest hardware (replacement unit) - the new hardware version connected to my Pixel 5 successfully one time, but never again.

The only thing I like about it is that it gives me widescreen Android Auto in my GV80 as it's tricking the vehicle into thinking it's running Apple CarPlay. The downside is I can't reliably make phone calls or use Google Assistant.

I may have spoke to soon... I tried yesterday to get it to connect to my wife's Mini. Couldn't get it to work. Now, I can't get it to connect to my Porsche. When powered up, my phone sees the Ottocast bluetooth, but everytime I try to connect, it drops the connection. I've tried everything including restarting phone. Looks like I'll return it and try a new one. PS- I tried to update the firmware but couldn't get it to work.

Yep, it seems like as soon as you try to use this device in more than one vehicle, it basically bricks the unit. I'm in the process of trying to do a credit card chargeback as ottocast is completely useless and unhelpful, lol.

Connected to my 2018 991.2 today. Install was seamless and unit works as it should. I have one observation and maybe someone here could clarify.
After turning off ignition I noticed the two led’s on the unit are still lit and I’m wondering if this will cause a dead battery after car is parked.

Answering my own question. Just noticed that the unit shuts off after some period of time. Not sure how long but it does.

As Mini is from BMW, the company say it's not intended for use in BMWs, specifically.

Actually, they list the following Minis as compatible. My wife has a 2021 convertible with wired Carplay.

It isn't compatible (or I couldn't get it to work after MANY tries...

I returned my first one (via amazon, super easy) and just hooked up the replacement. Fired right up. Hope it keeps working...

Has anyone successfully updated the firmware? if so, could you explain the steps. I tried using the brief user manual instructions and couldn't get it to work. Maybe that's what bricked my first one.
