Default Price Check on 2015 C4S

I might buy a friends 2015 C4S cab with 25k miles. White on black with all the right options.

what’s fair price for both of us?

I’ve seen a few listed for around $95k, is that what they are selling for?

That sounds quite high to me. Maybe a listing price. But I think it is worth about $10k less than that.

I would expect a manual coupe to be closer to that price range, but not a PDK cab. 10k too high for me (at least). That being said, there's always value in buying a car from someone you know and trust.

Same opinion here. But most importantly does it have the top options you really want? If you made a list of how you would spec a car, including interior/exterior color, are the top 3-4 things on your list? If checks your most important boxes, that’s worth something.

Go to the Carmax site and follow though with "sell your car" and see if they give you a price. I sold a BMW to my brother in law that way. He paid what I could get for it at Carmax which is close to or same as trade in. That is unless you want to get more then in that case list it and see what offers you get. Done that too.

A consideration of options on a 2015 991.1 car is paramount to estimating the car's potential value: Some must haves, only in my opinion, there are certainly other parameters that I may have omitted.
  • Clean CARFAx with all prescribed maintenance done,
  • Sport Exhaust
  • Sport PASM (With Sport PASM the car will be lower, for some with steep driveways this can be a problem.
  • Sport Chrono
  • PDK, some really want this, whereas others mist have a manual transmission.
  • XPEL PPF treatment
  • Radiator grill guards
  • DME checked for over tevs, not generally a problem with PDK, check them anyway. Generally Range 1 over revs are caused by hittin the rev limiter. Range 2 and above are mechanical over revs but withinb the safety parameters of the engine's internals. Ranges 4-6 are considered major and may eventually be catastrophic. Porsche will not CPO a car with Range 4 or higher.
  • Check the consistencty of the depth of the paint. There are Factory specs as to acceptable thickness. You'll need a paint meter for this.
Also, people pay a premium for:
  • CPO car, only available from a Porsche dealer or a privare party PP for remaining CPO mileage, CPO from the dealer is 2 years, unlimited mileage. They do a 111 point inspection and make any minor repairs as required. If the car gas too many deficiencies, the dealer won't certify it as a CPO car.
  • Lower mileage, under 30,000 is the "magic number" for a 2015 car, most any used car for that matter, the closer to 20,000, all the better, go below 20,000 you have found a Unicorn,
  • Minimal owners, 1 every 3 years,
  • West Coast cars, no road salt, minimal extrame weather, hail, etc.
  • An after-market warranty in place.
  • All maintenance and repair records.
  • Double check the windshield for small pits..easily seen in the right daylight conditions,
  • Check the headlight covers for pitting...can easily seed seen at dusk, can be difficult to see in daylight...very expensive to replace.
And any car under consideration must have no "stories" regardless of how believable, as liars, cheats and thieves can make up grerat stories. Also note, in today's market, you find a car that meets/exceeds your buying criteria, be prepared to make an offer ASAP. Because of the scarcity of good used cars, a "grind" doesn't work so well these day.

@Martin S. - great list. I would add checking the door panels, especially if not full leather.

This is a great point...I bought a 2013 Carrera S CPO car from Porsche of Naples, FL, sight unseen (Now that was stupid!) and had it shipped to Cali. It was soon pointed out to me that the door panels were delaminating. The hot climate and mousture in S, FL was problem the catalyst for the door panel failure...it was not a full leather car. Because of the rather rude treatment I had recsived from the dealer post-sale, I didn't bother to contact them. I did take the car to Porsche of San Diego, and they said they would help me on this.....they started the process, but then I sold the car, good ridenance, traded it in on a 2017 GTS, full leather, CA car.

I’d say 95 would be quite reasonable.
