Has anyone installed this cup holder (Kaizen lighting) for the 991.2? It goes in the center console in the position that the 992 cup holder is. Looks intriguing but you have to take apart the center console to install it. The link is below.
As i new 911 recipient and having used the factory cup holders a bit, i just ordered this, I don't mind the factory cup holders not the best but iv'e had to use way worse, i'm hoping i will enjoy this a bit more as driving with half the dash hanging out is at best tolerable.
This seems like a good solution when compared with the factory cup holders. I'm just a little hesitant to take the console apart and wanted to see if it was worth the hassle before i pull the trigger on this.

This will nice for the commuters coffee decanters, 16oz. water bottles fit fine in the factory pull out cup holder for me anyway.
This looks like it's a quick install without taking the console apart. Package Includes: 1x Cup holder. Satin Black (Matching black to center console) Plug and play. 5 min install time.
Kaizen does have an install video. It's literally pulling the chrome surround from off. Pull the shifter aurround up, pull the small trim off, pull the button trim off. That piece ended up being hardest to pull off, then the little bin slides out. You slide in the soda holder, and pop all pieces back in reverse order. No tools needed except perhaps a plastic pry tool. Here are pics of the "low profile" version that holds soda, but i use to hold keys and coins.
There are a few versions. The low profile that I got and posted above. A higher lip version that should be able to hold larger drinks more sturdy and a higher lip version with a slit to hold cell phones.
