Default Choosing between 2 cars

Hi! I need to choose between two 991 C2S. The both are the same color with almost the same options and the same price. PSE was added after on the 2014.
A 2012 with 16000 miles or a 2014 with 29000 miles.
I prefer the 2014, but wondering which one will have the better value in a few years.

PRICE ARE IN CANADIAN !!!

If price is same, depending on how much you drive, the 2012 may be better as it represents 2-3 years worth of fewer miles. PSE can be added but miles cant be taken off no matter how much money you throw at the car, Given the extremely high used car market, if price is same you can protect your "investment" slightly by buying the lower mileage car

also, if you choose to protect your car with a Fidelity Extended warranty (or any warranty), the price of same warranty for a 16K mile car is at least $1000 cheaper than that of a 29K mile car

Good luck

The 2014 has a nicer options package. I like the Sport Design mirrors vs the flag mirrors. Instrument dials and seatbelts in red are nice options too. As for value, well, lower miles usually means higher value. I guess that's why they're priced the same for cars of different vintage. But I never buy a car for "value". I buy a car for emotional satisfaction. You may never want to sell the car, so value is with you and not the market.

tough call. The 12 looks cleaner and not a fan of the red gauges.

the 14 will likely have a better resale albeit not by much.

I’d probably go with the 12. Even though it was a first year model.

The '12 appears cleaner. The paint seems nicer, as the interior. It's had only 1 owner, it might have been better cared for.
The '12 is at the dealer I deal with. Can't go wrong with them.

Jeez, are 991's really selling for that much here in Canada right now? I paid $99k for my 2013 991.1 S 7 MT back in 2017.

PDK cars typically sell up here for about $10k less than the MT counterparts since MT is so exceedingly rare in Canada.

I agree with dannyss - the 2012 looks like it's in better shape and Lauzon is a good dealership group.

Went to see both yesterday. Actually the 2014 is better shape the 2012 since it has the front wrapped with PPF. The pictures don't do justice to the car.
The 2012 is nice also but without PPF, it has stone chips that were repaired...

The 2014 has the better options, if it was me I’d go with it. My car is the same with the PFP and there is some wear and tear on it but I know the paint below is perfect so it can be redone easily. The red accents and black together looks awesome.

I bought a 2012 C2S (Sport Chrono and PSE) 2 years ago with 81,500km (50,600 miles). Since then I've put 13,200km (8,200 miles) on it, absolutely problem free. I wouldn't hesitate to buy either car. Just pick the one you like best. I don't really care about resale value, because I'm in love forever! By the way, I paid $75,000CAD ($58,800USD) for it.

I was going to ask which was in better condition. Sounds like the 2014. Go with that one.

The 2012 wins for me. Significantly lower miles isnt just a mechanical advantage, but the interior will also be in much nicer shape. At least from the pictures, everything from the buttons to the state of the leather, it just looks so much newer.

Go with your instinct and get the one that makes you happy.
It is quite difficult to predict what things will be like when you are ready to sell.
In the bigger scheme of things, it probably won't matter.

Get it, & enjoy it. We only have so many trips around the sun!
