First, I think a sharpie would look hideous and ti will notice it right away.

Try Dr Colorchip. I did it to my son's car and it looked 100 times better than before. Give it a try, you have nothing to lose.

Default 8k is a ripoff

You are paying the Porsche tax, with a quality ppgpaint that should be 500 to 1k. Water based paint is all garbage but after they bake apply PPF immediatly.

60 hours labor to do both quarters seems a bite much so does 1,200+300 for materials...just sayin'

ditto that! ridiculous estimate for repair imho. 60 hours?? LOL!

ditto the black color comments above too. owned a black 280z in the early 80's and swore it would be my last black car. that lasted about 35 years...then i caved and purchased my 991.1S in black.....and regret it big time. love black/hate black. never again (hopefully =) )

mine has PPF on the entire car. do have some light PPF damage in that area but zero paint chips. much easier/cheaper to remedy then paint. if you own a black 911, PPF-ing the entire car is a wise move that'll save you alot of grief (time and money too).

Agreed, I wish I had done the PPF before I put a single mile on the car. Now I know!

Question for you, now that it’s ppf’d do you find the maintenance the same as another color car?

i really didn't notice much of a difference regarding cosmetic maintenance. mine seemed to smudge a bit more easily after waxing (Chemical Guys spray wax is what i use) but other then that....nothing. others may have more input here....or different experiences.

Black is a beautiful nightmare. miss the days when i could wax my car and enjoy it looking great for more then a day or two (and my car is always kept in the garage when not in use). it's a futile battle that i fight and always lose
