Default Carrera Sport Wheels

Carrera Sport Wheels seem to be more rare. What are your thoughts on this wheel style? I’d like to hear your likes and dislikes?

On my 4S. Other than nice looking IMO they are easy to keep clean. The Spyder Design wheels on my Cayenne are a pain with all the detail surfaces.

Talk about too much time on my side, I made this spray shield to lay over the wheels when I sprayed on tire shine. Over spray collects more dust on the wheels. I ran out of mods to do I guess for now.

Maybe a tutorial on how to make and materials used? Great idea!

I should have researched before I figured out things myself. Researching now I found this link on youtube.
I also found this product
https://rimproit.com/

Basically I sourced round 21" and 22" acrylic sheets, went to Home Depot and bought a two door stops which came with screws, Centered the door stop on the disc, drilled holes to match and voila done. Above product makes sense if it is available in the right diameter. 1/8" thick best Good luck!

I think they look great, but am not a fan of the weight.

I ordered my T with them so yes, I like them even though they weigh more.

I love the simple 5 spokes, but also don't love the weight.

I thought the Carrera Sport wheels were forged and hence light. In any case, I didn't want to fork out $6k for a new set.
I found a wheel manufacturer based in Hong Kong on eBay via a recommendation here in the 997 forum => https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...ew-wheels.html
They make forged wheels of decent quality - in the league of Ferrada, Rohanna etc
Several members there had wheels ordered from the same company and all had positive experiences.
I had a positive experience too - the seller can customize the look of the wheels and powder coat them per your ask.
You can whatsapp the seller and track the progress - I got pictures of the bare forged wheels before powder coat
They even sent center caps to match the wheels. I went for the Carrera Sport look.
I was shocked by how light they were - very much comparable to the stock S wheels on the 991.
Coming from aftermarket cast wheels on my 997 (Starke SC19/18 fuchs knockoffs), these are waaaaaaaay lighter!
Here's a picture =>

Something timeless about the 5 -spoke pattern on a sports car. Looked great in the '80s, will still look good 20 years from now. I debated between them and the RS Spyder wheels when I ordered my 4S and I 'm glad I got the carrera sports. Plus IIRC they were like 700$ cheaper.

Also ordered a T with them - no regrets here, easy to clean and more importantly they look great!
