Default Are 991s actually selling at these prices

Hard to tell what’s just list price and what sale price ends up being. I’m seeing examples like two separate 2013 CS cars with 10k and 20k on the clock, pretty well optioned (premium plus, pdk, seat heating and vent, etc) for about 95k with CPO.

I looked at a 2016 S in 2017 with similar options and it was like 5k more than that.

Are cars selling at these prices? Is there any end in sight?

I just paid 99% of 2015 MSRP for a 2015 Targa 4S. Maybe that makes me crazy, but it's what I wanted. Fortunately for me (I guess) it is a single owner CPO with 3800 original miles and the dealer put 4 new tires on it, and did the 4 and 6 year maintenance, so it is basically like getting it brand new (was my thinking). It is also very well optioned. I waited for a year to see if prices were going to come down (and searching for just the right low mileage car), but it became obvious they weren't, and when I finally found a car I loved it was a "you only live once" type deal in my mind. Wait years potentially or have a super low mileage full service history car in a color I love now. Easy decision. For me.

I just purchased (1 week ago) a 2012.5 991.1 Carrera Cabriolet base Agate Gray/Luxor Beige, moderately optioned, 39,000 miles, PDK, no paintwork, full dealer service history, not CPO or from a Porsche dealer for 66K. Not a steal but local 1 owner and what I wanted. Prices are what they are and IMHO if people continue to pay then prices are pretty much justified. Just my $0.02.

I bought a 2012.5 991.1 S with18k miles back in 2016 for 68K.... and sold it for 56K 31,000 miles in 2019..
Inflation is awesome in 2021.
MY 991.2 S is worth like 120k now lol, so Im not complaining.

It's fun (and depressing) to look at the selling history on bringatrailer and other auction sites. I think they provide a pretty good representation of the current market. Personally I think the prices some are willing to pay is bonkers right now. 991's have high production numbers and I can't believe this exuberance is going to last, to me it feels more like a bubble.

Prices are very high across the board for sure. Whether or not they are selling for ridiculous prices, I don't know. I would guess there are some people dumb enough to do it. I've been watching the market for a 991.1 S for a few months now and i will say that there are some cars out there that are NOT overpriced in my opinion. I have seen several very clean base Carreras in the low to mid $70Ks and some Carrera S models in the low to mid $80Ks. Most are priced higher than that but they are out there.

For example. Yellow is a little to flashy for me but otherwise I think this car is a steal at $79K

BAT just sold a beautiful 2012 S for $85K + fees.

yellow car is nice, at 80k with double the mileage and no CPO I guess it means the 95k prices I’m seeing aren’t that crazy..

wish people would stop the ridiculous hdr filters though.

This might be unbelievable but I did find carmax has some nice equipped 991.2 C2S selling at 80% of MSRP, which is kind of reasonable in today's crazy market

Easily has something to do with vehicle condition, carfax/accident history, mileage, or color scheme. Not that carmax is going to intentionally sell you a lemon, but they ain't stupid either when it comes to pricing.

I know that for some these pricing threads are not interesting, but for those (like me) who are in the market for a 991.2, they are invaluable in trying to figure out this crazy market

This car is literally 15 minutes away from me, if anybody wants eyes on it.
