Default 991 Sport Seat Measurements

Could one of you with a 981 or 991 help me out?

I'm looking at potentially installing 991 sport seats into another 928 I've acquired and need to know if the distance between the seat rail mounts is the same as it it is on the 928 and 997.

Any chance you could slide your driver or passenger seat all the forward to where you can see the seat mounting bolts and then measure the distance from the center of the rear bolt in the left seat rail to the center of the rear bolt in the right seat rail. They should be (or I need that to be 15.75") for the 991 seats to work in a 928, like the 997 seats I've retrofitted previously. This measurement should be the same for any 981 or 991 style seat.

If you happen to have the Sport Seats like those I'm looking to install and can capture the other dimensions described below, that would also be very helpful.

Thanks a lot.

Mounting bolt center to center distance on the seat rails

997 and 928 are 15.75". Hoping 991 is the same.

Height from top of seat cushion to top of backrest

Height from bottom of seat rail to top of backrest

Total width of seat from outside of height adjustment handle to outside of opposite side seat bolster

I just looked at my 991, and my 982 which I think uses a common floor stamping, and it looks closer to 16 1/4”.

Hey, thanks for looking at this for me. I had the guy who was selling the seats measure them for me and I think they're the same - at least I hope they are because I bought them. Too good a deal on too hard an item to find - manual and the all leather option without the alcantara. If by chance they won't fit, I'll resell them which shouldn't be hard as they're in excellent shape. When I measured my 997 ones they are actually a little different comparing the front spacing to the rear spacing so I think they're going to work. From the connector terminals, looks like they have heat in them too, so will probably wire a separate switch on the side to make that work as well.

Those look great! Let me know if you need something else checked out once you get going. I took the LWB out of my T to put the TPC recline brackets in, and the process is a piece of cake. Good luck with the physical install and getting the heat working!

Thanks a lot. Shouldn't be hard as I've done 997 sport seats into 928s twice before and made an office chair. The manual seats just need the main power and ground for the recline to work. The full power seats are a whole different story because of the memory module and how it controls power to the various motors. Had found a nice set of those, but was afraid I wouldn't be able to make them work and didn't want to butcher all the wiring up.

997 Adaptive seats in my 928 Spyder (convertible). Backs wrapped in CF vinyl

997 Adaptive seats in my former 81 928 Euro. Backs wrapped in exterior matching pearl white.

997 Adaptive Office Chair with 12v alarm battery for power functions to work

This pair is going into this car

Will replace these original 928 seats and I'll either dye the new ones black or add more tan trim to the interior to tie it all together
