$100k to spend
I am starting my search to find a gently used 991.2 base Carerra but am baffled by the prices I see on various for sale websites. Are cars actually selling at these very high prices ? Realistically, what year car would be available in the $100k ballpark ?

At a Porsche Dealer?
Guessing a decently optioned ‘18 991.2 C2 in a popular color with 20-25k miles and more or less complete service history, with nothing weird on the carfax?
Same for an S, but a ‘17.
Maybe. I dunno. Prices are nuts these days.
Where are you? Pricing and availability will range pretty wide depending on location. I’d try PCNA nationwide search to get an idea of current asking prices.
A private sale might come off those levels a bit.

10/22/21 I paid $100,677 for a '17 C2, 8 months of CPO left, 5 year/75k mile warranty, PDK, GT Silver & black with 20's and a few other options. 36k miles on it. This occurred in Oregon.
I spec'd out a 992 version and came up with an msrp of $120k.

I would wait it out or spec a new one and wait for it to arrive, here's a bit of madness from my local dealer.

They offered me $100k for my 2018 Carrera T with 10,700 miles and a $117k sticker. I would be interested to see what they would have ended up listing it for...

I purchased my '17 C2 in July 2020. The car had 26K and is CPO'd for another two years (from now). I sourced it from a Porsche dealership in Cali (I'm in PA not far from you) and paid $80K.
Right now, if the same dealership were selling the exact same car, I'd believe they'd be closer to $100K.
I had the added disadvantage of wanting a manual. This cuts the inventory down to around 10-15% of all 911's for sale at any given moment.
I don't think you're going to find anything for under $85K with mid-to high 30K miles.
Do yourself a favor, if you really want to purchase a car, setup a search on Autotempest. You can get very specific with options in the search and check it daily by "Date Posted."
You can also search Porsche inventory:https://finder.porsche.com/us/en-US/...75.632447%2C-1
TBH, I feel that the cars are actually selling at these price points. The cars are not listed very long and there are new ones constantly being posted.

Also, what are your drop dead options that you'd have to have (like PDK or manual, 14 or 18-way seats, color etc.)?
I've found a couple low optioned cars with quite low mileage for under $100K with a manual.
