991.1 engine lid won’t open
2012 991.1 engine lid won’t open.
When I actuate the open engine lid switch by the drivers door – nothing happens. No sound of the servo motor working. The lid remains closed.
When I use the emergency lever in the frunk to open the engine lid – the servo motor at the frunk works great and opens the engine lid.
I want to restore the functionality of the drivers door switch/servo motor in the rear of the car.
One or both of these components is bad – Before I start throwing $$/parts at it – does anyone have a how-to checklist ascertaining checking the function of the drivers side switch condition? From the looks of it – multiple connections – can it be checked with a multimeter?
Anyone with similar experience?
Thanks

koala > thanks for the link/input. I had researched my issue before posting - but had not fully thought the issue through - with the review of the links you provided - I'll try some more stuff tommrow.
> the main fault noted with the plastic switches used - is that the piece of the switch lever that actuates the plunger which completes the electrical circuit - is made of plastic and breaks - ergo it does not depress the plunger - so I'll remove the switch assy and examine in more detail the mechanical aspects of the switch.
- I'll also remove the cover over the servo motor and examine the electrical connection to the motor - see if I can rig up a 12 v power the the servo motor - see if it functions..
- I'll rig up a better/ more durable retaining latch to keep the bowden cable on place.
should be a fun day...
