This is a very interesting piece to me because I have not really ever seen this installed on a car aside from this thread. All the photos I see of the .2 RS interiors have complete "rear seat delete" panel with carpeting. This piece lays on top of the original carpeting and bolts in the same center screw the lower seat pad is secured too.

Anyhow I got it installed. The Alcantara is a shade off from the center arm rest on mine at least. Not sure, perhaps a manufacturer variation since I also have dash end covers in alcantara which don't fully match what came inside the rest of the car.

100% better than the exposed metal and center bolt screw look!

OP, Thanks for the information

Did your alcantara piece come with the little mat to cover the bolt? It looks like it but hard to tell from the pics. TIA

I actually cut the cover out of plastic.

@buddalun does your armrest open normally?

I got the part, and it seems that it would prevent the armrest from opening.

thanks!

@LWG sorry, I asked the wrong person.

LWG, thanks for your reply. I'm not sure what my issue is, but it seems that the armrest is too long and hits the trim piece. Maybe I'm doing it wrong. I will post pictures.

The armrest is in the way when installing, but opens normally after.
Installed mine spring of 2022.

I must be doing something wrong. Still can't get it to fit. Any suggestions?

I see the tabs where the trim piece is supposed to go, but I can't push it that far forward because it hits the armrest.

It's as if my armrest is too long (?)

There is a slight possibility that this phenomenon is caused because:
A. You have to remove the armrest

Open the center console, then fit the piece. There are two tabs (you can see one in your pic) the tabs slide into the receptacles as seen on the opposite side of the console. With the armrest up it should slide forward and down.

@Jim M.
Thank you for the constructive comment Jim!
I will give that a try. It's just really hard for me to wriggle back behind the sport bucket seats with the harness bar there... not as young or as small as I used to be.

I had trouble installing mine too to make it nice and flush.. Removal is easier. You will want to loose up the arm rest.

I appreciate the input from everyone, but I just can't get it to work. Please see the video.
Both tabs were locked in, and the bolt was centered. When the armrest swings back, the hinge immediately hits the trim piece.
I think I will try something more drastic and ill advised. Can't return the trim anyway.

You have the extra height arm rest right?

@VII7 I am wondering if my deviated stitching interior package gave me a slightly different armrest (?)
I can get it to fit if I shave the leading edge down, I just have to figure out how to do that neatly.
