Just ordered, didn't qualify for 10% but it gave me a AAA discount.

If you ever are in Venice and curious what a base '17 C2 sounds like with 5W-50, just let me know. I'm just off Exit 200 of I75. I'm down in Naples not infrequently; the Revs Museum is a real treat. I was at the Collier County Training Center on 3rd Ave South for a class last week, and Mrs. Rich and I are taking a couple days next March after another class I have at Homestead to enjoy Naples. We like that Tin City place off the water, it's kind of interesting.

Sorry for thread drift, we should probably get back to the oil.

Be happy to try to meet either of you. B, I'm off Pine Ride and the I. I'm down at Ankrolab off Bayshore most Fridays in the coupe for date night (weather permitting). Rich, I'm in Venice all the time for work (was there today). Time permitting we could try as well. Both of your experiences have me conflicted, but I think I'll try the heavier oil as it seems it wouldn't hurt to do so.

PS- I don't think many people know what Rev is much less how truly amazing the collection is.

Sorry for one more thread drift, but yes, Revs is amazing. I was there most recently to take my brother through. I always enjoy it.

WOW I didn't realize Castrol had a A40 approved oil and it's available in most areas around town.

I was a Castrol fan for my previous Audi's and VW's and had very good results.

I'm currently running Pennzoil Platinum Euro 5w-40 and it's getting more difficult to find w/o special ordering.

Im a Florida guy too, Naples, and use Mobil 1 5W50. With the heat down here the 5W50 is a good choice. Car is quiet as can be, although I’m running with a Europipe exhaust which has perfect sound.

Maybe this thread needs to move to the Regional forum. I’m in the Far East part of Naples known as Weston 😂. I spend a lot of time on the west coast though. Had lunch at Docs (Bonita) on Saturday.

but to keep this thread on topic… I’m pretty sure I’m switching to 5w50 next change. Probably go with M1 though.

...and here ya go:

https://rennlist.com/forums/rennlist...-and-tour.html

I started a thread for a fall '21 mini-meet up and Tour of the Revs Institute, maybe a docent-led tour (10 people/5 couples is about max for that) focusing on the Porsche wing of the museum. Just need to pick a Saturday that works for most and folks can order their tickets. See ya'll in the other thread, so this one can get back to the oil.

Haha... I live 3 minutes from Doc's
I'm going with 5w50 too.
