Pirelli vs Michelin tread life

Time to replace tires on my 991.1S. Currently have Pirelli P0s. Rears are gone at about 12k miles. I was satisfied with how the car drove with the Pirellis. TireRack says that there would be no difference in tread life with Michelin Sport 4S. However, their website dashboard says otherwise. Any views on the merits/demerits of either one???

As a daily driver, any differences in tread life will not be significant, and certainly not noticeable.

Michelin is quieter imho

The tread life will be insignificant, focus on the driving characteristics, noise, handling wet and dry. For me the MP4S are the best choice but that’s why there are several choices so we all get what we want.

I have been curious about tread life since I replaced the OEM P0's on my '17 C2/7MT in December 2019 with a set of Michelin PS4S.
I bought it as a CPO June '19 with the Pirelli's, so I don't have any data on them. I am not a track guy, and until COVID hit last summer, the car was my DD back and forth to work.
To estimate tread depth, I use a PCL (Pneumatic Components Ltd) Tyre Depth Gauge I've had since I lived in the UK '93-'98. It is just a couple cylindrical metal cylinders with a pushrod you just push into the tire groove, and read off the depth in mm based, on how much of the inner / tip goes in. I measure all four tread grooves, and pick the lowest number.
At the date of install (12/20/19), at 24,597 miles, the new tire tread depth measured 8.3mm. Today, at 31,289 miles (6,692 miles elapse), the fronts are both at 7.8 mm, and the rears are 6.3 mm. Based on that, I get the following figures for "tread life" (equal to current mileage on the tires, plus a computation of how many miles to go, until "replacement", which I define as 3.2mm) of:
Front tread life: 64,611 miles
Rear tread life: 18,822 miles
I'm very pleased with the Michelins. The handling in the wet (I live in FL, we get a lot) is noticeably less sketchy than the Pirellis. The stock tires also had this weird tire roar at 60-65 mph, which is now completely absent since I put the Michelin's on.

I agree that the Michelins are a quiet tire, but as they approach end of life they start getting noisy. I appreciated this when replacing them even at 1 year with the newer set being quieter.
