Basalt black picture thread
Funny story- when I purchased my 991; it was an online sight unseen buy. I noted it was basalt black and saw the photos, which were taken on an overcast day. My previous Panamera was jet black, so you already know the surprise I was in for when the car rolled off the transport truck.
I briefly wrapped it chalk as I didn’t love the purple/blue/brown metallic flake in Basalt, but removed it recently.
How do we feel about Basalt black?

Any more photos? Yours looks more great! I think my wheels are throwing me off. I plan to change them for some carrera s wheels soon, likely finished in satin black.
Are your taillights tinted at all?
Does yours ever look as purple as mine in the first photo I posted? Yours looks excellent.
let’s keep the pictures coming for us under represented shade of black folk!

I believe these are my wheels. I believe they were powder coated. I believe the tail lights are OEM. I’m not the original owner so I don’t know the full pedigree.

I love my Basalt Black. I was a little worried about purple hues when I first bought it, but I really never notice it looking purple or anything else weird. In most light it just looks black to me.

I like but don't love this color. When it is freshly clean and the sun hits it right its better with the flake coming out more, but most of the time its just black. My Next Porsche wont be a black one that's for sure.

I’m the opposite… just had mine ceramic coated and took a couple pics that really highlight how dynamic the color is. I must say I either wish it looked fully black OR had more purple flake to it. As it stands, it often just looks like it's got a foot in each camp, appearing like a jack of all trades, master of none.
Not sure if I can grow to love it enough to have another in this color, though I’ve made progress. My problem stems from thinking I bought a black car and ending up with something different. It’s been 3 years, lol. I may wrap it again, who knows!
In the shade- black.
in the sun- purple and brown
