I've also really enjoyed some of the small cosmetic changes I've made:
  • LED clear side markers
  • Grills for the front radiators
  • Custom Porsche emblem + new film for the front end
  • Removing the chrome badges and cleaning up the rear bumper (rear bumper was re-sprayed by a previous owner, and they didn't do a great job on it). New "PORSCHE" emblem in matte black
  • Taillights tinted
  • Ceramic powder coating the PSE exhaust tips matte black
  • Replaced centre console armrest with the 991.2 top-stitched version
  • Function First shift ****
  • Smokers package (I didn't replace the wiring harness, just wanted to clean up the centre console appearance)
  • Wheel spacers
  • Replaced incandescent bulbs with LED (frunk, glove box, doors)
The worst change I've made so far that I almost entirely regret is the Bridgestone RE980 all-season tires. I have no idea why everyone is so happy with these. They're literal garbage, lol. I'll be replacing them with MP4S later this year. I'm just undecided on whether or not I want to go with some Titan forged wheels to mount summer tires on, and then keep the all-seasons mounted on my OEM wheels so that I can still have the option of driving the car in freezing weather.
One of my favorite upgrades was also the smokers package upgrade, but you might consider going ahead with the $70 wiring harness to make the 12V socket and light functional. It’s quite a project that requires removing the entire console, shifter and PCM to remove the old harness and install the new harness, but the 12V socket is very handy for a USB adapter to charge the phone or to use for the battery maintainer. And of course I also like the finished look of the console with the lighter door closed.

I almost let the revised improvements (and there are plenty on the .2 cars) lure me into buying a .2 GTS. Was on the fence for weeks. Talking May 2020, inventory was flush and I had weeks to decide on a local .2 GTS and "T" at the local dealer... took the wife with me (also an enthusiast ) and after 3 trips to the dealer (and half dozen test drives - Thank you Porsche Southpoint) she reminded me to take a step back, and think hard about what I love about a "911".. she asked me what I really want from the car when the flare of powr/tq and launch control has subsided... and sure enough she was right.. back to the .1 cars i went. Cant thank her enough
.2 cars are better in almost every way.. just not in the way I personally want the 911 to be.. no reason for popcorn or argument..
I love this philosophy. Congrats on the .1.

Box stock 2017 C2 here. Heck, I haven't even changed out the amber corner marker lights.

Since mine started out in NY, when I drove it down to FL after purchase June '19, I had tint put on the windows and sunroof. That and Weathertech floor mats are about it. Good thread though, gives me lots of things to think about for the future.

This is my 1st Porsche 911, purchased it at the beginning of the Covid19 crises (4/20/20) a 2013 911 C4 with 14.5K miles. I love the car and it's true from what I've read on Reenlist from one of the enthusiast that you be addicted on doing upgrades. The following are thus far what I have done and improved to the 991. I also did a PPF as a DIY, have the link here if you wish to check it out and maybe take on the challenge.

The 1st day I bought the car pic.

And now, after the upgrades

1. Installed rear view Camera
2. SOUL performance exhaust
3. Tint windows.
4. Black HRE FF01 wheel upgrade
5. PPF Xpel Ultimate Plus the fronk, and the bumper.
6. Ceramic coated the entire car and the wheels.
7. Replaced side markers to clear LED's
8. Replaced al the interior light bulbs to LED, much better and less power consumption
9. Front Emblem replaced with Black and silver. ( not shown in the pic)

My PPF link

1st day in the show room

After the upgrades.....

Not sure what FTW means? Was this put onto a 991.2? If so please expand on what you think. I have a GTS. would like to do it but was worried about droning. Thanks

Can't speak for the exhaust sound tone, but FTW = For the Win... As in it's great/awesome. Cheers 🍻

As was said above. If you don't count the almost mandatory amber turn signal delete, my only mod. No drone for me, just a definite resonance change... This may help you decide, plenty of for and against...

Good luck!

Thank you. I don’t have pics but do have a vdo I’ll get some stills from and send. Overall I’m very happy with the fit, finish and svc of the Moshammer. However imo it looks best when in down position. When fully deployed and the sunroof is open, it looks like an air brake Lol. When roof is closed, the angle of the wing is nice.
Note, the wing should not be fixed closed as it moves around independently for stability and cooling of the car. I’ve also checked with multiple dealerships who’ve told me it cannot be programmed to only raise to ‘mid-height’.

Well actually come to think of it, I did make one small change that I liked a lot.

It turns out these VW Audi door striker covers are a common part, and they fit fine on my 991: (I had them on my 981S as well).

"Striker Protector Volkswagen"

Amazon Amazon

It finishes off the striker, and adds a little spacer to the door shut, possibly (might be my imagination, of course) making for a more secure "thonk" as the door closes. It takes like five seconds to put on, there's a little slit that you open and slip the cover over the striker, then smooth it in place.

2016 GTS manual.

1. 991.2 GTS steering wheel.
2. GT4 shifter.
3. Full soul exhaust/header system.
4. Cobb tune (meh. Nothing like tuning a turbo engine.)
5. Clear side markers.
6. De-badging.
7. Paint correction and ceramic coating.
8. Radiator grills. Certainly improves the look as well as protecting expensive parts.
9. Appropriate offsets. 15mm rear 8mm front.

The most meaningful upgrades for me are the shifter and exhaust.

I had a 2015 TTS (my first porsche.). I miss it, especially the torque. Best mod I had on that car was a europipe exhaust. Changed the emotional part of the driving completely. I also did a cobb tune (stage 2) which changed the car from crazy fast to just ridiculous. Highly recommend. How do you know if your laser jammer is working? I just assume cops will still give you a ticket for unsafe speed or reckless driving if they cant get a reading on the laser gun. They must know you have a jammer installed when that happens. Just curious.

Those wheels look amazing on that white cab. Look like a pain to clean though. Cleaning wheels is my least favorite part of car washing.
