Default Targa rear window tint: yes/no?

I'm looking at a few targas and one of them has a dark tint on the rear glass (and side windows to match). Aesthetically I don't like it all that much, especially since the targa bar is also black, so it all blends together and kind of reminds me of a black cabrio top when up. However, it got me thinking that rear window tint would be helpful for rear passengers (yes - I will sometimes rear passengers in the form of my 2 young boys!). I live in Seattle, so it's not too hot/sunny that often. I'm wondering whether to A) keep the dark tint for maximum interior comfort, B) remove the tint for nicest looks, or C) replace the tint with a very mild tint that splits the difference.

Anyone else tint their rear window? Why / why not?

I think tinting takes away from the look of the rear glass. I have left mine stock.

Tinted at 30%, wouldn't have it any other way.

You could always get a high % crystalline or nano tint - that way you’d have little perceptive difference from the outside but still have heat rejection. That big glass bubble would result in some serious heat here in Vegas.

I’m with the majority - I’m in FL and no tint here either.

Mine is not tinted. If I did, I would go very light tint mainly for heat and UV rejection.

GR997S, which tint brand is on yours and %. Thanks.

The installer (Glistening Perfection) used Huper Optik Ceramic 60 all the way around. Its the lightest tint and as you suggested just for heat and UV...

You s/b able to get a visually clear tint that blocks virtually all the UV.
