991 Lube Top
Why is there no maintenance of the top specified in the maintenance schedule? I've got 18 years of top up and down use between my former 997 and my now 991 and never did any mechanical maintenance. Never a problem. Aside from dealing with OP's squeak, is maintenance really a Porsche specified requirement???
No but most Porsche owners suffer from OCD, have too much free time and plenty of money to spend on maintenance. I shall now return to the garage to make sure the emblem on the wheel center caps are pointing to the $50 valve stem caps.
There is a recommended top maintenance every 2 years or 20k miles. Look on 2nd page under additional maintenance, Convertible top:

Not sure if there is a 991 one floating around.
fwiw, I haven't found any documents on here for the top maintenance either. The first dealer I took it to had no idea what I was talking about and asked if I wanted to pay for a fabric top treatment..... The second dealer actually put a nice thick coating of lube on the hinge joints (the one's I can see, but I'm sure there's more) and didn't even charge me for it. They also acknowledged though that they usually don't do any special kind of top maintenance, but since they noticed some creaking, they went ahead and did that.
