Porsche has already thought of this and created individual mode. Just set individual to sport and you’re golden - there are no pops and crackles in individual.
Wish this was true - however this is not the case. Individual is simply your favorite combination of normal, sport, or sport + with PSE / sport suspension / spoiler / *** mode disabled or enabled. Backfire and Rev matching are sadly not options.
so if Sport + doesn’t decrease the nannies, what’s the point? Only throttle response? I thought the nannies came on later thus more over steer allowed, wheel spin, etc....
sport+ also keeps turbos spooled and in boost when you let off so there’s no lag in your shift.

I agree with you, Individual is not a really great option to tailor rev matching or backfire, but I've always wondered: What does the manual mean when it says "Pre-selection: Normal, SPORT or SPORT PLUS" in the individual column? I mean, why don't they just put a dash '-'?
Is there a way to have sport mode without the exhaust pops and crackles?
Yes, two ways.
1) Close the exhaust flaps.
2) Get a tune that deletes the induced afterfiring in Sport mode w/exhaust flaps open, such as those from APR.

There are no tunes on the market right now that allow you to fully mix and match each system's settings that I am aware of. There likely never will be. A shame, since the Mk7 Golf R allows exactly this!

This is because normal/sport/sport + comes with those specific parameters/options when selected in individual mode. Not the clearest infographic out there...

Hey Sy,
We can write a tune to minimize the burbles! Shoot us a PM if you'd like

I do not have Sport Chrono, so no individual mode.
When I'm driving around town in Sport mode I drop the gas to create pops when I see a hot girl. Get's their attention. Maybe I'm juvenile.
You know, in two years driving my '17 C2 with SC+7MT, I've heard nary a snap, crackle or pop, despite trying, a lot. I drive almost exclusively in Sport mode.
Can you share specifically what you do to create the pops?
PS I already saw the hot girl; I ended up marrying her.

Got it. I'm not near my car to try this out at the moment. But I think I recall looking at "individual" early on after I bought it, and concluded it was virtually useless.
I happen to like the rev matching (I am terrible about doing it manually, due to foot size and poor heel/toe technique) but I totally get why it would be massively better if enthusiasts could switch it off yet retain the other SPORT settings. I'm ambivalent about the pops (as I've never, really, heard them in my car.)
